So tonight while I was at dinner the inevitable happened....after my dad and sister left it was just my mother and me....sitting there in a little dinner named Pete's.
So after a while we were talking about how I feel ashamed to be a christian because of how society views us, us being the bigots and self-ritious assholes that we have all come to know and love, right, right XD
So anyways she asked me "Are you trying to come out to me or something" and I just said yes....she was shocked more than anything, she said she has been thinking about it for a while now. She said that she thought this might come up eventually but she prayed that it never did....
I told her about Josh, she thinks he is cute XD
Bottom line:
Mom: I love you and I will always love you no matter what, I may not always approve of what you do but I will always love you....
Me: Thanks mom, I appreciate it....I really do....
She is going to help me brake the news to dad, we think it will be harder to do but she said it has to be done at some point, she said "Yes, he may not be the brightest bulb in the bunch but he isn't the dullest so he will either figure it out or I just need to tell him" and she promised that I won't be doing this on my own, she says she will be there with me 100% of the way....
I love my parents, i don't often say that enough but I do, my dad, yes, he is an ass but I do love him and I love my mother....she is so accepting.
Right now she and I are both on the big couch and she doesn't seemed phased, she acts as though we just had a normal conversation, she promised to keep it a secret until I am ready to come out to the whole family but she said she will be there for me the whole way....
I know I am 19, almost 20 years old but, I love my mommy, she is the best....

Robert, I honestly don't think that I could be happier for you. You've got a great guy and a great family behind you :) Good luck with telling your dad, and whoever else you plan on telling, when ever you plan on telling them. You're a great friend and this really brings a smile to my face :) Once again congratulations - coming out to anyone is a massive step, especially to your family. I'm really proud of you. ~ Mikey

Awesome man, Congrads. It takes serious gonads to do what you have done. And it's even more pleasing when it goes as well as it did.

Congrats man! I'm very happy for you and tbh very jealous. I'm glad your mom was understanding and good luck with your dad. Sounds like you got a good family to support you! To fear rejection from your friends is one thing but from your family, it is totally another. I wish I had the courage to do what you did. Maybe someday, hahaha probably far later than 19 :P

D'awww, that's adorable. I'm inches from tears actually. :)
You're never too old to love your mum! I adore mine to pieces and I'm your age. Of course, your relationship with them does definitely strengthen and smooth out after you hit eighteen.
Yeah, I can't completely relate to you, not being Christian and having agnostic parents, but you have my wishes and support always. Good luck. :)
