When I went the thing they wanted to know the most was whether I was suicidal or not, once that was out of the way I was asked quite a lot of questions I barely even remember because i got so nervous. My throat got really dry and I had to ask for some water :P
She asked and I showed my arm, but you don't have to at all and it should not make a difference on what help you get. I got referred to CAMHS. I had to wait over christmas and new year till I could get a pschologist but the doctor was really helpful/concerned, so she asked if I would have a would have a weekly check in with her until I got an appointment. I had an appointment with CAMHS within a month, but sometimes there is a really long waiting list and it can be much longer. It also depends on how quickly they think you need the support, self-harming usually puts you up there enough that you won't be waiting for too long.

Good luck and well done for getting help!

They'll probably ask to see your cuts/scars, but you can say no and they won't force you to show them. Chances are they'll ask you whether or not your suicidal or have suicidal thoughts at all.
They'll probably ask why you do it, what triggers you, and how you feel on the whole. Like whether or not you feel down, anxious, that kind of them. They'll probably refer you to whatever services your area provides, like councelling or to a psychiatrist if they think it's necessary. In the UK it'd be CAMHS, but they might recommend that you go private if you have medical insurance (and if you do, I suggest you use it).

It's not as bad as you're probably expecting it to be. They're professionals, and they see this kind of thing quite a lot, so they won't act shocked.

Good luck with everything :hug3:
