Yes you should! Hockey is one awesome sport. I can't play competitively now because of my history of injuries, but I still do casually and coach the local U10 team, heaps of fun until someone shuns you in the shins.

I'd say go for it. I coach a bantam team and don't play anymore, but because for me the desire isnt there. If you want to play dont let the difficulty of getting back in shape stop you, the challenge is what makes it rewarding.
