Alaska is obviously the best state. It's the only state where you can never be too fat or too drunk.

How can you decide what state is the best? There are 50 of them. Plus, I haven't been to all 50 of them. Have you? Personally, I love where I live - California. But I'm not saying it is the best. We have sunny weather most of the time, beaches, major tourist attractions (Disneyland, Universal Studios, Sea World) to name a few. But other states have that too.
If I had to choose, it's between California and Florida.

Please, there's major army bases all around the U.S. Wright-Patterson AFB here in Ohio carries the duplicate of Air Force One (I've seen it, and so have many other people, flying around the general area). It also houses some important info when it comes to the Air Force (especially when it comes to spec. ops). Also, You seem to forget that almost every major city that borders a sea has a port for trading.

And you wanna know why we suck even more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u62OtM_vt5k I can't even list all of the things we are stupid about just listen to all of this

I can tell this is going to be a very controversial matter. Depending on what state you grew up in or live in, there is going to be dramatic bias toward one state over another, regardless of the individual. According to CNNMoney (which should in theory be a pretty arbitrary source), puts Louisville, CO as the best state in the US.

Well I live in California, but secretly there are two different californias, north and south. NorCal is best because SoCal is full of tools, poseurs, people that think they know what cold water feels like, Mexicans (no hate), and smog.
I think i actually live in the best place in the US. Great beach in my back yard, the beautiful city of San Francisco just across the Golden Gate Bridge, Tahoe for some of the best snow sports and facilities in 3 hours, and hands down the best running and mountain biking trails on the West Coast if not the US. 0% Crime rate doesn't hurt either.
And yeah I'm bragging whatever, NorCal, specifically northern Bay Area, is the best area in the US.

Texas is deffinatly the best, not only because i live here but mainly the other people. I read once that if you are in a diffrent state you know a persons a texan because theyll be countin down the seconds till their backn texas. I went to oklahoma once and found my self with a countdown on my phone. And yes we do wear cowboy boots to school, no we dont all ride horses, but noone lives far from some cows (yall have snowballs we have cow dung works the same way)

Wrong. You can be drunk in the summer no matter where, fat spending your time indoors in the winter.
North carolina is a good state. Cheap, with cities, beaches, and rural areas. Very nice, a little too hot and sticky though.
NY is also good, but the living expensives here are outrageous. and don't say crime, because we all know that it really isn't that bad compared to other cities...like Detroit...gives me shivers....

Most basic supplies on the West Coast are expensive. When I went to California three years ago, gas was reaching four dollars a gallon and just one gallon of milk was about eight dollars. I can only imagine what it's like over there now. On top of that, the most basic housing was at least a quarter million dollars.

I'm going to say Maryland because we have beautiful mountains, major port hub of Baltimore, Annapolis, vast crop fields and Ocean City. We have one of the most diverse climates of the United States of America, also, our land varies, so we can grow crops while having major cities. Crabs, oysters, as the housing market goes, its cheap. What else do want.

I'll admit, North Carolina is pretty nice. We have both nice beaches and mountains. However, our gas taxes suck. We're like the second highest taxed state in terms of gas taxes. And eh, the overly conservative people here suck. So, not sure I'd say North Carolina is the best, but it's not bad either. I don't know that I can really choose though, since I haven't visited all of the states. I think every state has something to offer though.

What is wrong with Southern California?! lol. And California is by far the best.
Don't take this personally, but my trip to Southern California was horrible. It was a huge culture shock. Other than the weather which it NEVER seemed to rain (I guess this is good for some, not for me), my trip consisted of a bunch of fake people. This includes the endless guys that thought they were the shit because they wore hurley/quicksilver/whatever, and girls who act like your friends and then talk behind your back. It may have just been my own experience, but there isn't any city in the entire world more fake and simply awful as Los Angeles. San Diego wasn't as bad, though.
Northern California was completely different. San Francisco was absolutely wonderful in it's people, weather, and care of roads and buildings (there weren't any horribly congested roads or gang areas during my trip, though this may not be entirely true).
This was just my experience, though not all of it was bad. I did actually make a few friends, but overall it was a disappointment.

Worst states? Wyoming and (im going to be scolded at this) California. I loved the Northern Part (minus bay area, it was OK) But SoCal people are just 20 year old preps from other states that did not have an awesome beach.
