So I'm really wanting girls to notice me when I go to my new school this year. How do I do that? I've always been the shy person in my class. I'm not very athletic although I've been doing P90X. And I'm hoping P90X will help me to get in good enough shape to play soccer, which any sport will help. What events/extra curricular activities should I get into? How can I get them to notice me with such a shy personality?

Be yourself. Don't get involved in extra-curriculars just to meet girls. 9 times out of 10, you're stupid if you do that. Get involved in things that genuinely interest you and meet people through that. That way, you and that person already have something you know you both share an interest with.

Also, meeting girls is a shitty goal to have, might I add. If that's what you're focused on, your social life (assuming you have one to begin with) will suffer, and you will undoubtedly lose opportunities that you otherwise might have been presented with. Friends should be more of a priority anyway, and what I said stands for meeting friends as well.

If you're shy, find a shy girl and be shy together <3

^This.

Also just try talking to some of them about anything in general, even if you notice she's wearing odd socks or something just say "haha nice socks" and smile or laugh. If you like her necklace or ear rings just compliment her.. #1 ticket to getting girls to notice you is making them smile/laugh. (Just don't do anything stupid to make them laugh)
