So what are our thoughts on tattoos and piercings? I personally don't think they are bad at all, society perceives people with tattoos and piercings as 'bad influences' which is true for a minority. Would you ever get a tattoo or piercing? I know I would like to get a tattoo on my upper arm and an eyebrow or ear piercing. However, I think there is a line, and I get freaked by those covered in tattoos and/or piercings. I also think lip and tongue piercings are gross, what do you guys think?

I plan on getting a fair amount of tattoos and piercings once I'm able to sign for myself. I think that, for certain occasions (e.g. some job interviews, etc.) having tattoos of weed leaves is unnecessary, but in an everyday situation, I see nothing wrong with them. I don't understand why people are "freaked" by people with lots of tattoos or piercings, especially gauges. It's just another way for people to express themselves, within reason, of course.
In case you read all of that, and it made next to no legitimate sense (yay for shitty writing): I don't give a fuck.

OK I want to know what is bad about rats and piercings? They are a form of freedom of speech. I agree that at jobs they should not be shown, but places like school or anyway else, have no right to condem my tattoos or piercings. My body, my choice.

I don't see anything wrong with it. They're doing it to their own body, and it's their decision to get a tattoo(s)/piercing(s)

It's your body. It's your choice.
But it's my choice to be disgusted so I will be disgusted and most parents wouldn't want their children to see it. Sorry. That's how society goes.

I think tattoos are fine as long as they aren't big and gawdy, and I agree I only like piercings in the ears other ones kinda creep me out but that is just my opinion.

I have no problems with them. I've actually been considering a facial piercing (or 2, but no more than that) for while now. I understand there's people that hate them but that's perfectly fine with me, in fact part of the reason I want one is because I sort of want to turn off or annoy those types of people anyway, yknow? I never been interested in getting a tat, but again I have no problem with other people that have them.

I wouldn't get piercings just for the fact I don't want something being pierced and hanging off of me permanently and it just doesn't suit me. But I don't mind them on others at all. I always wanted a couple of tats but my parents are heavily against it and said they'd disown me if they caught me with one, so it became out of the question.
I think any sort of body art or piercing should have no negative bearings to it. It's a creative and individual mark which expresses the stage we are in our lives and what we feel. They are also in lots of cases a start to a conversation and stories. So I don't see what the uproar is about.

I agree with that logic^^ I like to see how people express them selves but I don't like when its dark and negative..

Honestly, I am not a big fan of either. Religiously, I can't get a tattoo, but even if this wasn't the case, I doubt I'd want either anyway.
But sure, do whatever you like, I can't see how they'd be a bad influence, it just what people like.

I agree^^ I don't necessarily like either, but it's not my body and I don't see anything wrong with it.

I think that some piercings are kind of gross. I have two in each ear but I'm a girl so it's culturally acceptable if that makes sense. I can't get a tattoo because of my religion, and I honestly do want one, like a heart on my wrist or something, but won't get one. I like tattoos on people a lot, but if a person was completely covered in tattoos it would freak me out a little. One arm or something is perfectly fine though.
As for piercings, I'm ok with most of them except when people piece their genitals (ouch!) or put those huge rings in their earlobes (again, ouch!) and tongue piercings seem pretty stupid, but they aren't gross.

I LOVE tattoos and piercings, but I understand how somebody could not like them. Everybody's perception of beauty is different. I love tattoos and piercings because they're statements and are expressive. Body art is gorgeous in my opinion, and when I can I'd like to get a sleeve tattoo of various things, I have a few ideas.
I only have my tongue pierced at the moment and I'm content with just that now, but I'd like maybe collarbone piercings whenever I have the money.

It's a personal choice, whether or not someone wants to get a tattoo or piercing is completely up to them. That being said, I wouldn't ever want to cover myself with tattoos and get a million piercings because that's just not me. But I do see why people do it - it's just a form of self expression.
I currently have 3 holes in my ears and am thinking about getting my cartilage done. I also want to get a yoga-related tattoo on the inside of my wrist. But I highly doubt I'd get any more than that.

Both make a person look a little bit thick. I hate them both. God knows what the next generation will make of this stupid fashion craze.
No offence to any of you peepz.
