I think it would be a swell idea to have a singles forum where people can post if they are single or not.

There's good sides and bad sides to this.

The good side is that people who are single can find a partner or even just a new friend.

The bad side is that it would make it much easier for paedophiles and some people might even try prostitution.

What do you guys think?

This isn't a dating website. If you have a problem regarding your love life, then post in R&D. If you're looking for a partner, get off the computer and go meet people.

This. We aren't a dating site, we are a help site.
And also, people would be giving out way too much personal information about themselves, and that never leads to good things.

There are plenty of dating websites out there, but we aren't one of them.

That by itself isn't a valid reason. Some people need help when it comes to dating.

I agree with not having a singles forum because it's unnecessary for this site. I just wanted to point that out.

That's what the Relationships & Dating section is for.

Nearly all things that could come from having a singles forum would be against the VT Rules anyway. e.g. asking for info, etc.

never dude. This is a teen help site for emotional situations and family issues. Not the melting pot for bears, clowns and cammers.

Honestly, we work hard enough here to make sure people don't use the site to hook up. it's dangerous and doesn't fulfil the aim of the site in general. I have good faith no future administration or staff on the site will ever let that happen, and I know this one won't
