Hey guys!

Just wondering if anybody is interested in custom boot animations for their android phones. I made a tool to push them to your phones and it doesn't require any rooting or technical know-how! It comes with a nyan cat boot animation in the .zip (Why not XD)

Just to clarify, This does NOT edit your phone's system, so it is completely safe!

Also it is open-source! The source code can be found here: http://bit.ly/y5bM3l

NOTE: Might not work on stock HTC and Samsung ROMs.

If you guys have any suggestions questions or comments please leave them below :D

Tool: http://bit.ly/wimmHN

All you do is download the .zip, unzip it, and click on Run Me.bat :cool:

It's not completely open-source, as the adb.exe file has no source available. Unfortunately, because we can't trust executables without source -- even you have no malicious intentions -- I must lock this thread.

If you sould like this thread reopened, please send any GMod, Admin, or moderator of this section a PM explaining that you will put the source package in.
:locked:

EDIT: Reopened. The adb.exe seems to be a closed-source executable from Google.

Doesn't require rooting? I doubt it, a lot of android phones end up getting bricked or crashed in the infinite-loop boot sequence. But for the sake of this thread, i'll do a nandroid backup and try it out, incase anything looks good and will get back to you.

Device: HTC Wildfire S
Android: 2.3.5
ROM: JxMatteoROM v1.1
Clock Speed: 512 -OVERCLOCKED-> 800 MHz

UPDATE: It didn't work. However, my ROM was based off a stock HTC ROM.

Yeah, thats HTC for ya :(

But it only pushes the animation to /data/local/ so there's no chance of a brick
