So I've heard that marijuana is worst than tobacco cigs, but I've also heard tobacco cigs are worst than marijuana. Which is it? What are the side effects of weed (smoking it) and what are the Long term effects? Because so many people at my school do it it's crazy. I've never been someone to be experimental with that stuff. I just am asking.

This post reminded me of this, but I still hate MM.

And to answer your question weed is proven to have little to none of the harmful carcinogens found in cigarettes. But some study's say that weed can cause the acceleration of Bi-polar Disorder.
Most of the people I know smoke pot, and my 30y/o brother in law is a huge deadhead, last year he was diagnosed with BPD, so it might be true? Keep in mind, other people in his family have it and he has smoked pot everyday for 17 years. I know plenty of other older people who do, all of them very successful, happy, and healthy people!
Again, not telling you to go smoke pot. Just my thoughts.
Cigarettes killed my grandparents, and many people in my family are heavily addicted. My sister has smoked a pack a day for 10 years. If you seriously do want to try them (and I say don't- you honestly just get a little dizzy and feel a sh*tty buzz that goes away after you've smoked a dozen or so) just don't have any Marlboros or Menthols. Marb Red's are some of the worst cigarettes on the market, besides the Newport Menthols.
Menthols make your lungs bleed, and cloves too if you smoke too many. Some people hold the smoke in their mouth to savor the taste for a few seconds before inhaling so that doesn't happen.
If you want to know what else the kids are really getting into, Salvia (What Miley Cyrus smoked on TMZ) is sort of a Hipster drug. People just trip the f**k out for 15 minutes, not to mention it's perfectly legal. And you don't get anything out of the trip, it's just really strange. It's also natural, and not as bad as cigarettes.
But I haven't tried it before, and again I'm not promoting just informing.

Well first off, the way is goes is Tobacco is worse than Weed. because tobacco kills over 450,000 ppl a year in America. Meanwhile Marijuana has not killed any person directly that i know of.
Some side effects are bloodshot eyes and a dry mouth, as well as a slight increase in heartbeat and impaired short term memory, increases heart rate but decreases blood pressure, but you build up a tollerence after a while.
a long term effect: its rare but a side effect called a "burnout" can happen, it can make you somewhat dull and or really boring in the eyes of others, you just drift thru life. You can become estranged from relationships because you "dont have time for them" because your so into weed and they cnt deal with you.you would legit have to smoke like 24/7 to be like that. only real long term side effect is killing brain cells, and become groggy and irritable to others. thats it.

Many deaths in the world are caused by cigarettes.
Marijuana is not that bad for you. No one has ever gotten lung cancer form marijuana solely.

Thats 'cause they blame every lung cancer on smoking tobacco.
Now heart attacks are being blamed on smoking tobacco. I thought that was poor eatings job.

cigarettes are poison. Weed can have negative psychological effects, and if you have a heart problem called long QT syndrome, it can kill you. (but that is a rare condition and if you had it you'd know it) If you want to smoke tobacco, I'd recommend getting some locally grown, non processed stuff and make cigars with it.

Um.
Yes, marijuana SMOKE contains plenty of tar and irritants, but cannabinoids seem to possess anti cancer properties.
Dr. Tashkin found that marijuana smokers had no increased risk of head/neck/lung cancer and some even had REDUCED risk. Regarding COPD and decreased lung function, Dr. Tashkin found that tobacco smokers had a clear increase in lung cancer and reduced lung function. Moderate marijuana smokers did not show any significant increase in risk of lung problems -- but heavy smokers were more variable, and he could not pinpoint a trend. In the end, it was still safer than tobacco. Marijuana is a bronchodilator and an anti-inflammatory agent, so nasty tars and irritants are flushed out more quickly and breathing is much easier.
Keep in mind, Dr. Tashkin was hired to find the RISKS of marijuana on the lungs. He was funded by the national anti-drug agency to do this work. He did feature in a segment for the documentary "What if Cannabis Cured Cancer?" which was pretty well done.
