i was just wondering why most guys who are gay that i've observed seem to have a sort of accent.

That's actually just a stereotype. I don't know if it's a coincidence for you or something. But neither me nor my brother have an accent, nor do any of the gay guys we've ever known.

Some guys do, and since that's a unique thing that's in the gay population, that stands out to be the standard. I don't do it, although I used to.
I don't know why they have an accent, probably because the people they feel comfortable hanging out with (girls usually)

Besides, I'd be really bullied in my weight training class if I had it anymore :P

Not all gay guys have that accent although lots do. The two gay guys in my grade talk like that, although one more than the other.

Yeah but I'm talking about standards. Gay guys are usually classified 'less of men' because they like other men. So the femme thing goes with that. Plus there are more guys who are gay and have those accents rather than straight, but it does happen.

Maybe because the stereotype of that "gay accent" seem to get to the younger gays and they think that because they're gay they have to use it. As they grow, though, some lose it but some keep it. In the straight population, they dont feel like they should use it. Just a guess...

Usually to feel more comfortable with the opposite sex. Most gays don't have it. Other than that, I dont know why they have it. It sure makes me feel a tad comfortable with gays.
