View Full Version : Antisocial Personality Disorder?

I haven't been diagnosed officially, but two psychologists on two separate occasions have referred me to get a diagnosis because they suspect that I have antisocial personality disorder. Apparently this is due to traumatic experiences during my childhood, which is understandable.

Are there any other people with personality disorders, ASPD or otherwise? I'd love to hear your experiences.

I hope that everything goes smoothly with you and the diagnosis.
I'm afraid I haven't really met anyone in person with ASPD, but I can imagine it's a bitch to deal with until you get that official dx. to get the right treatment.

Are you going to be evaluated for the diagnosis soon?

I am getting evaluated on Thursday, and will be referred to other necessary places once the diagnosis comes through.

I'm being forced to go to an anger management group (for obvious reasons if you know the details of ASPD, and I don't think I can go into detail without breaking forum rules), and it's almost painful having to listen to a bunch of other people whine about how they don't like people because they don't relate to them. Most of them are there just to have a place to vent, I think.

It's a little funny, though, because nobody there talks to me - they're all somewhat afraid of me due to my apparent disorder. Aside from the occasional whisper about me being a sociopath, none of the other patients like to acknowledge my existence.
