Whenever I feel really depressed, I listen to sad/depressing/self-loathing songs. Any ideas for song that I can add to my playlist?

Yeah, I'd be depressed too if I listened to Chad Kroeger.

Generally when I think of depressing songs, this is the first to pop in my mind. Sure there are more depressing songs out there, but this is Bon Jovi and automatically better.

To be Continued ~ xxxHOLiC Soundtrack by S.E.N.S. Project (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnVBVwnqyNI&feature=related)
(YMMV on whether these two are depressing or just somber or profound... or neither if you feel that way too)
Lost Heart ~ xxxHOLiC Soundtrack by S.E.N.S. Project (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7RSMcLXQVs)
Lost Memory ~ xxxHOLiC Soundtrack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4SmKXh78cI&feature=related)

Hear Our Prayer ~ Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle ~ Yuki Kajiura (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ-CLKqFScg)
City of Wind ~ Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle ~ Composed by Kajiura Yuki (I think), Sung by Youtube user XVeilX (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0Dt3Zv8BRg) (Note: This is an English cover of the song Kaze No Machi He)
Epilogue Cadenza ~ Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Cadenza ~ Magical Trick Society (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjxbjAKCkf0)
Reminiscence ~ Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Cadenza (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWGl_xjpWCk)
The Steel Samurai ~ Gyatuken Saiban Meets Jazz Soul (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRGm-rN1YG8)
Note: All the following are for the DS and not of amazing quality.
Reminiscence - The Shadow on the Bridge ~ Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2P3oQm2VVk)
Reminiscence - The DL-6 Incident (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BYJRMOp6G4&feature=related)
Reminiscence - The SL-9 Incident (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lT_N0-INnA&feature=related)
Reminiscence - The Fire Carves Scars (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wz7sCvguxxU&feature=related)
(Phoenix Wright is an excellent for simplistic, but effective depressing songs if you look at all the Reminiscence or Recollection themes)
Exile Vilify ~ Portal 2 ~ The National (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-Vg2YS-sFE)
PotatOS Lament ~ Portal 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcBVf5Nq-To)
Self-Esteem Fund ~ Portal (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9nocjg2OLI) (I honestly think this is the saddest, heaviest, most somber song I know)
Farewell Hyrule King ~ Legend of Zelda Wind Waker (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7P2HNic7JjI)
Title Theme ~ Ocarina of Time (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tf7gu6hKkc)
Folsense ~ Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyBHTfVnASw) (Alternatively, the Live version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6T0y9gN-kQ))
Memories of St. Mystere ~ Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BB8X8rM4Gk)
The Mysterious Girl ~ Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrHV7v_nTkk&feature=related)
For Good ~ Wicked (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQJaZO2nfGg) (More sad in context, but still)
I'm Not That Girl ~ Wicked (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ly_9rmOE-L8)

Wait it Out ~ Imogen Heap (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P58tNCBlr3U)
Once Upon a December ~ Anastasia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpEoMe4a0IE)
The One That Got Away ~ Katy Perry (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahha3Cqe_fk&ob=av2e)
Over the Rainbow ~ Judy Garland (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HRa4X07jdE)
Part of Your World ~ The Little Mermaid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pPUmv3U2XY)
Venus, the Bringer of Peace ~ Gustav Holst (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKvG0RU4_fI)
(Some of the more somber songs from any Studio Ghibli film qualify, but they seem to have cracked down on copyrights on their songs on youtube, so it's difficult to find many of them)
The Sixth Station ~ Spirited Away ~ Joe Hisaishi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgkGHGzTEk8&feature=related)
A Road to Somewhere from Spirited Away also definitely qualifies, but I cannot for the life of me find a recording on youtube. I highly recommend it however, as I think it's the most introspective, deep songs on the soundtrack. Try iTunes if you have time, they may have it.
Secrets ~ Hotel Dusk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0azOoHjaVX4)
When She Loved Me ~ Toy Story 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=px0j1EHF8Y0) (If you didn't cry at this part you are not human)
That's a fairly good overview of most of the sad songs I have.
There are more, of course, but I'm busy now.

If you're wanting something bleak, misanthropic, early Swans also fits the picture.

Ah, I have been looking for these sorts of songs for a while. I never really buy albums. I either Torrent entire blocks of music or just find it on Youtube and stare at the screen for a good.... hour or so.
Some of the most dissonant (in a good way), misanthropic, loathing music I've heard is the black metal genre. More specifically -- the depressive black metal genre also known as DBSM by some fans (Depressive Black Suicidal Metal). Most bands are foreign to USA (Norway, Germany, France and Russia).
Prison of Mirrors - Xasthur
Coldworld - This Empty Life, Suicide
All the Cold (They have numerous songs -- New Day Without Me, Through The Dead World, Message of Silent Space)
Her Ghost Haunts These Walls - Nocturnal Depression
Next up is more generic and well known songs (mostly rock and alternative, I think)
45 - Shinedown
Hurt - Nine Inch Nails
Hurt - Johnny Cash
Down in a Hole - Alice in Chains
Rotten Apple - Alice in Chains
Lithium - Nirvana
Creep - Radiohead
How To Disappear Completely - Radiohead
Mad World - Gary Jules
Doom/Gothic/Funeral Metal:
Anathema - Deep
Paradise Lost - Don't Belong, How Soon is Now, etc etc
I'm sure you get the point.

Gloomy Sunday.
If you can, find the original English version.
The story is the song supposedly "caused" people to commit suicide. Bullshit, I know. But they still banned the song in some places, and they added a verse "Dreaming I was only dreaming. I wake and I find you asleep in the deep of my heart" to the end to censor it almost.
Billie Holiday's version is probably most popular but it has the alternate ending. I haven't explored many covers, but I know for a fact that Emilie Autumn's version doesn't have the dreaming bullshit and ends before that verse.
First song I think of when I think of depressing.
