What do you do when your parents ground you? I have a feeling I'm going to be grounded Because of my report card a she might take my iPod and tv away.if she does this will be my first time being grounded. But what do you do to keep yourself occupied until its over?

I've never been grounded. My parents prefer to shout at me for a bit then ignore me for a few days. And who looks childish then? Not me.

I've been on punishment and my mom took away my computer and told me I couldnt go anywhere or have company over, so i just mainly listen to music, catch up on school work or just sit there and watch time go by haha.. Got off last week and probably gonna be back on later on today.

I spend a ton of time reading. I haven't really been grounded since I was young though.

Books, art, catching up on school work, etc. Learn to knit! I always advocate for knitting. :P

I actually was never grounded. Oh, my parents loved to threaten to ground me. But I was never really punished in that sense. We'd get into this huge argument about it and we'd both be yelling back and forth but in the morning it was always as if it had never happened. But I think probably the reasons why I was never grounded was A. I rarely actually left the house anyway and B. I'm someone who is really good at all things makeshift. Whether that's substituting an ingredient in a dish that I forgot to buy, to finding something to do when my crappy internet provider is screwing with my connection.

It's a good idea to learn how to entertain yourself when you don't have access to those things. You never know when you'll have to do that. Personally, even if my parents were the ones to punish by taking privileges away, none of it really stuck because I always found something to do. So it really wouldn't be a punishment then. Hell, I'm entertained by just laying in bed for hours. Of course, I'd rather be on the computer doing whatever the hell it is that day, but I'm really good at passing time by doing really nothing at all. Over the holidays I killed two hours one day just with a cup of water. Oh that sounds sad now that I think about it. :P

Be inventive. Try something new. Do some research on an interesting topic. That is, if you can obtain books/utilise the internet. Try to craft something from scratch that you would normally buy at a store already made. I've made lampshades, clocks (though I purchased the motor of course), candles, the possibilities are endless. Break out all the videos from your childhood. Whether that's Sesame Street and Pee Wee's Playhouse or the dumb old home videos your dad recorded. I found videos that my grandfather recorded of trips he went on with my mum and her sisters when they were children! Those are always the most interesting. Grab a tree branch from outside and see what you can carve out of it. Use something different to draw a picture. Just last night I took nail polish, coated it over a tin can and then carved it with a pin. (I know, I'm weird, I get it. But it definitely engages you XD).

That's all just random shit I've done in my free time that I'm grabbing ideas from, lol.

never been grounded, my mom just yells at me. The only technology thing she can take away is my laptop, and that has never happened

My parents have a time limit on my laptop anyway so when theyvfeel like grounding me they just shorten it or switch off the wireless. You could read, listen to music, draw, take photos, do homework there is an endless list. Almost everything we do now adays involves technology but if you use your imagination you can be occupied for hours.
If you have old clothes or bits of material lying around try to make something new out of them. Make a bag out of denim jeans or cut up a top and make patches for trousers. Honestly there is so much to do but if you get really bored tidy your bedroom or wAsh the car maybe your parents will ease off your punishment you never know!

She grounds my sisters and they just tend to read magazines and moan that they are bored
