So basically I spent my week off of school applying to about 30 jobs online and printing 20 paper applications (gotta buy some more ink, lol) that still need to be filled. I recorded all of them, including phone numbers and addresses. I still have a list of several places to apply to next.

I was just wondering, once I get all the applications finished, what do I do next??? Being me, I hate staying still and doing nothing. My friend said she got her job by calling the manager of the place (to show initiative) until the guy just gave her it. Should I do that, too? Any other techniques? Thanks in advance!

You can, call each of them, let them know you sent in an application, also, once you get an interview you can ask who will be interviewing you. Look them up, you can also type in the companies name and the most common interview questions on line and read them.

Learn about the company, do some research, it will make you look even more interested in the job, but have a thank you card, make it personal for each person who interviewed you, have them completed for when you leave so you can have the front desk put them in the mailboxes.

Call weekly!!!! Hope I helped, have fun and good luck, I only spent about 6months searching for one....Let me know if you need anything else man.

The best advice I've ever received is to phone and ask if they've had the chance to review your application yet. It shows initiative and they're more likely to remember you if they have a voice to place with the name. Even better, if you're in the area and it's convenient (you don't want to look like you're being annoying), just pop in and say hello. Meet some of the other employees and maybe ask how they like their jobs. It shows that you're interested and people are likely to remember your face.

If you do get turned down, not to worry, thank them for considering you anyway. It shows maturity and if you were ever to apply again, it's a good start.

Good luck!

Going in and doing as what Nathuagyn said can be a great way to show interest and motivation to get the job. Employers notice this kind of stuff and appreciate it.

It's great that you don't like to sit still, that shows real want. You have to show all those employeers that you want their job just as bad. Call, call, call!!!!

Annoy the hell out of those managers! Make them know that you want to work there. I have experience hiring people, and I refuse to hire anyone who doesn't show complete interest. I take applications online (And you previously stated that you applied ones online) but I also like it when someone turns a paper copy into me, personally. So do that. Turn them in online, then go lay a copy of it on the managers desk. Then call them a few days later, and ask if they read it. And so on. :)
