Should I tell him?

Anyway, I've got a friend that I've known for a long time. I haven't really been in touch with him since before high school, but we have hung out a few times and went golfing. Anyway, I'mhaving a text message conversation with him about relationships etc.

I asked him to guess what my relationship status is. He's asking me if I got laid and if I hooked up with a "chick" and "fucked" her. Should I just say "dude I'm gay, you don't care do you?"

Is that not the kind of thing you say in a text message? He goes to a high school in a different town so it's unlikely he'll go chatting to everybody I know. My facebook profile acknowledges I'm gay so most people that know me could find out in 30 seconds anyway. I want to see if he'll reply with something nasty, accepting or not reply at all.

I'm kind of having fun with this conversation, what should I say? It's a chance for me to be open about my sexuality but I'm not sure if a text message is appropriate.

Do whatever you feel i right for you, if its over message then so be it, just as long as your confortable with it

I just got my 2 closest friends together and told them. They were fine. I would do it in person, just my opinion.

I just ended up replying with a message "dude, I'm gay." I would have done it in person but I don't see him all that often. I see him once or twice per year if I'm lucky. I'm still waiting for a response. It's at the point where I really don't care what he thinks or does, I just wanted someone else to know.
