My iPad seems to last only 5 hours on high lighting, but I usually have it on half way. I don't have that big of apps, but I only have 80 songs 2 movies and 3 tv shows. I have a 16 gig iPad 2.

Reduce sync updates, charge the ipad less and use wired syncing not wireless.

actually, it'll help if you only plug it in when it's just about to die, and don't unplug it until it's full.

I've actually heard of that, but I'm kinda confused n how it works. Is it to do with shortening th battery life if you plug it in when It doesn't have to be?

Yes. Rechargable lithium battteries found in most mobile devices (Tablets, phones, laptops, etc) have the most life when they're allowed to be fully drained, then fully charged. Their lifecycle starts to decay really quickly if you keep it constantly at a full charge (Leaving it plugged in), constantly charge it when it's only half drained, or leave it sit completely dead for a really long time.
Usually doing one of these things every once in a while won't hurt it, but if your battery is already showing signs of losing life, I'd definitely start doing full drain/charge cycles to maximize your battery life.

So I've been doing what u said not to do for about 7 months. Can I still do your idea of waiting till it about to die ? Or is it to late?

It's most certainly not too late. Not only will you prevent any more life being lost, but you may even notice that it lasts a little longer. Allowing the device to do a full drain (Completely until it auto-shuts-off)/charge cyle a few times can sometimes squeeze a bit more life out of the battery by resetting the device's definition of 'full' and 'empty' (Resetting the gas gauge if you will).
