I'm just curious. Personally, I love this musical. I love how the whole thing is sung, there's not a single bit of dialog that isn't in song. I go through stages of loving it and listening to the sountrack on repeat, and not listening to it a lot, but still loving it every time it comes on when my ipod's on shuffle.
So, what do you guys think?
Here are some of my favourite songs (so hard to pick, so I ended up posting more than I intended):

^^ This is the only one of this song I could find, and it sounds a bit faster that the one I've got, and faster than when I saw it...

I've listened to the music and even used Castle On A Cloud for auditions when I was a bit younger, but never seen the musical. My best friend is a huge Les Mis fan. And I have every intention of seeing the film version. As scared as I am to hear Taylor Swift singing On My Own. Oh fuck me now. I hear that Evan Rachel Wood had her eyes on the part as well. Why did they not fucking cast her? Compare a Taylor Swift album to her work in Across the Universe. She's certainly a better choice for Eponine. And I do not like Amanda Seyfried but at least I can imagine her voice singing Cosette's part! *sigh*
But Helena Bonham Carter is in it. So bring it on.
They're actually singing "live" in the film instead of recording it in the studio. So that will be interesting.

I have never heard any of the music, however, it is my high school's Spring Musical this year. As I plan to work this show (being my last show at the high school), I'll know all of the songs by the end of it.

I was actually a little bit angry when I heard Taylor Swift was playing Eponine. You listen to how Frances Ruffelle sings On My Own, and the you listen to a Taylor swift album, and your first thought it "she might be able to hit the notes, but it'll be nothing compared to how it should be." They've basically thrown loads of famous names into it so it'll be well known, but I honestly don't see it being anywhere near as good as it should be. Helena Bonham Carter should be good though, I like her.
But after seeing the theatre production, I honestly can't see this film being anywhere near as good in comparison. I definitely recommend seeing it in theatre. The finale is especially effective on stage. It's really simple, but it still gives you goose bumps.
