View Full Version : Problems ripping with Exact Audio Copy (EAC)

So I've recently had the desire to rip my CD collection into .flac format for archival purposes. I know that Exact Audio Copy is one of the better CD rippers for .flac, so I downloaded it and followed all the guides on how to properly set the program to rip in .flac. But that's not what happened. After hitting the Compress icon (which is what I was SUPPOSED to click), I just get the raw .wav files and no .flacs. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I'm currently using 1.0 Beta 3 (from August 29th, 2011). Surely this must be something I've accidentally caused?

Try reinstalling it.

Try reinstalling it.

Tried it twice and that didn't work. This is something wrong with the flac codec obviously, but I can't figure out what.

EAC>Configuration Wizard>Next>Next>I prefer to have accurate results>Use these values to configure this drive>Next>Next>(for archiving purpose)FLAC>Next
and you're done

So THAT was the problem! I thought I had selected the option for archiving purposes. Thanks!
