Well, you could try just explaining to him, but I know how hard that can be. Depending on how he has blocked the sites, you could try get around it. Try proxy servers (http://www.freeproxies.org/) . Basically all you have to do is access what you want via their website and they display it for you without you actually having to go on the site.
If you want to go a bit more advanced (but more powerful), try SSH Tunneling (http://www.ytechie.com/2008/05/set-up-a-windows-ssh-tunnel-in-10-minutes-or-less.html)
If these don't work, I recommend downloading Tor (https://www.torproject.org/) or Hotspot Shield (http://hotspotshield.com/) .
