Mate if the pain is semi bad and doesn't go away, you need to see a doctor or the ER as it could be Testicular Torsion (Where the teste twists in the scrotum and blood supply is impaired). This is a medical emergency if it is torsion and needs treatment ASAP. I was suspected of having it myself and had the same shooting pain as you are describing.

Having said that there are more possibilities, however all pain in that region needs to be checked out sooner rather then later.

I had something similar to testicular torsion but not quite once. I went to the ER. If your music was really bass heavy the vibrations could cause pain. Also most testicular pain feels like it is also coming from other places as well such as gut and hip.
