Stuffy nostril

For a couple of months one of my nostrils would always remain closed up. Sometimes it depends on which direction I lay down (laying on the left, it's the left nostril. Laying on the right, it's the right nostril), normally when I sit up one of them is blocked and rarely when I stand one is blocked. Is there any medicine I can take to keep this from happening? It's gotten pretty annoying being able to breathe through one nostril or breathe through my mouth.

I had this problem due to sinus problems, I would recommend a trip to a GP to make sure it is that. I used over the counter nasal spray's from the pharmacy, and they worked well.
