Why do my finger nails have white spots on them?

Usually if you bump your fingernails, they'll have white spots on them. They can stay months but always go away.
It could also be a fungus, lol. But it's probably not, bumping your hands (expecially fingernails) on something is really easy to do.

Uh uh. I also have white spots on my fingernails.. and my friends mum is a nurse. She told me that it is a sign of stress. If you are always stressed/depressed and nervous you get these white spots.
Because your fingernails are nerve-endings of the body (the last point nerves hit) they leave strange white marks.
