So I have received a few bad reps for no good reason. Like I received one for my question about shaving my arm hair. And I believe that was unnecessary, I understand a few of my bad reps but some like those were unnecessary. Anything administrators can do?

Contact an Administrator to get them removed but, also, please remember that Reputation means nothing. It doesn't change who you are, what you do, or your place in this forum.

Yes, if you feel you have received unjust -rep you can pm an admin to appeal it. However they will only reverse it if they agree it was unjust, not just because you don't agree with it.
You can disable rep in your user CP if it bothers you as well.
To some extent, it doesn't affect other users ability to give you + or - rep, only whether its shown to other people.

People disagree with your views: You get -rep
People agree with your views: You get no or (sometimes) +rep
Don't take it too personally. It's just a number.

Well it's just that I know that I sometimes look at reps. And I'm wanting to be a moderator or something like that and I know they won't hire me until I have a lot of good reps :(

that's actually not true. they really only base it on how you act around the forums, and your application.
i am 99% sure on that one
