i was just curious who your favorite Harry Potter characters are? if you have one favorite over all the others... who is it? and Why?
try to go off the books rather than the movies if possible... because the books were much better.

Luna, she's amazing. Also a Ravenclaw, which is my house. Everything about her is wonderful, and Evanna Lynch pulled her off awesomely in the movies.

Definately neville longbottom. Think he is awesome both in the movies and books. He reminds me of myself with his uniqueness.

I like Hermione out the Trio, then Harry, then Ron. Ron has nothing going for him except being a good friend. And even that can be debated.

Bellatrix will always be my favourite. Never took a lot of notice of her in the books, it was only when the fifth film came out that I started really liking her. Of course, it's nice in book-based films when the actor actually brings MORE to the character than the book provided, instead of just meeting the criteria or undershooting. And even if you hate Bellatrix, you've got to admit, Helena's Bellatrix is fucking awesome.

She's a complete loony but you can tell she's still quite witty. I've always seen her as having antisocial personality disorder, it fits her like a glove. And I don't know, I always go for the villains, and she's got a bit more life to her than Voldie or the wimpy Malfoys.

Then of course Tonks and Lupin solidly hold second and third. I cry like a baby whenever I read/watch Deathly Hallows. And then the rest of them in no particular order are Trelawney, McGonnagall, and Snape. I like quirky teachers I guess. :P

Question: Am I the only Harry Potter fan who fucking hates Harry, Ron, and Hermione? :P Harry most of all. I mean, I do enjoy his story obviously, but I hate his character.

I've read all of the books multiple times and have seen all the movies as well. In the book, I think I like Hermione the best, but I'm a fan of Daniel radcliffe so Harry is my favorite in the movies

My favourite character is, contrary to what everyone else's opinion seems to be, Lucius Malfoy.

His intimidating demeanour and his narcissistic sense of self-worth are just a few things that make him intriguing. He was passionate about what he believed in, and did not let others' decisions about what was "right" or "wrong" change that.

My favorite character is snape because he has so many secrets to reveal. He has layers underneath him, still waiting to be unraveled. He is like a big mystery captured and twisted into human form. I always pictured him as someone who cared the most. He was willing to give up his reputation to. Save Harry, which just goes to show, that he is nice, and selfless.

In the books, my fave is Sirius or Lupin, but in the movies I have to say Bellatrix. Then again, I'm biased towards Helena Bonham-Carter because she was in Fight Club so...

Ive read all the books and they are AMAZING!!
My favorite characters are Professor Mc gonagall...cuz she can change into a cat which is so cool and she is actually a pretty tough lady.
Im also a big Sirius Black fan and I really like Ron Weasley...heck the whole Weasley Clan....they are funny :)

Okay, I know I am a little (very) late because I just joined...actually, I joined a while ago, didn't understand how to use this website, then forgot about it until now.

Anyways, I gotta say, Sirius is just such a lovable character. Plus, I know people may or may not start hating me, but I love Severus. He may have been a real dick to Harry, but he did protect Harry and dedicate himself to keeping him safe until the day he died. I don't know if I need to justify my reasoning, I just want to so you don't come and kill me.

I am just going to say this: I think I am the biggest Harry Potter fan... only probably not. I love it so much. I actually read the entire series during the entire week of "The Magic Quill Challenge" for Pottermore. And I gotta say, they made it easier for Brits because it was like 9 or 10 in the morning for them on the first night while I was sitting at home almost falling asleep at almost 2 AM. But whatever. GAHHHH I am such a Harry Potter nerd. I am not even joking.

Syvelocin caught what I was going to say. Bellatrix is the best character in the entire series, books and movies. I loved her in the books and the movies just amazed me. Only thing that pisses me off is her death in the movie just did not live up to the book at all.

Tonks would be number 2 for me, she's just an awesome character who I wish we got to see more of.

Luna/Sirius are tied for 3rd and Snape right behind them.

I honestly find it funny that in such a big series, whose main characters are so recognizable to the public, if you ask people who read the books their favorite characters, the large majority choose minor/supporting characters rather then the big 5 (Dumbledore, Harry, Ron, Hermoine, Voldemort)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the books, I've read all of them and not just once. I love re-reading them a lot.
My favorite female character is Hermione. I wish I was as clever as she is.
I'm not sure about male character...
I guess Weasley twins. I always wondered why J.K. Rowling killed one and not another and vice verse.
They are smart, they know want they want to get from this life and they do get it. They are great, really.

I have to personally say that Hermione is my favorite. She is BEAUTIFUL and INTELLIGENT! She can back up everything she says and she can be a formidable opponent. I love her temper too! I always favor the smart, witty characters. In a close second falls Luna. I just love her personality. And third is Ron with all his badluck, haha.
