Okay, so first off, I want to say I'm not exactly where this goes, but I saw help and family and friends so decided to post.

My problem is this: Almost every single one of my friends are girls. I have a couple guy friends, but we're not really close, we're more like acquaintences. I have nothing against girls, my best friends are girls, but it would be nice to have a guy to talk to about chicks and stuff, you know? So, is it a problem that I don't have any really close guy friends? Should I try to make some guy friends? And if so, how do I do it? I have to be not-myself around guys, not pretending to be straight or anything, but I can't act the way I usually do.

Please help!

it depends on you. its your choice. you dont need to talk about chicks with a guy, you can talk about it to anyone.

I know that. But, I'm 100% certain my girl friends don't really like to talk about girls with me.

If you're concerned about it so much walk up to some dude, say something your comfortable with like "whats up?" and start a conversation with them. That's how people make friends with me because I'm a stoical dork and don't need many friends. Though somehow I am acquainted with an alarming number of the people... back on topic, yeah, look for what they are interested in. Sports? Gaming? Reading preferences? And if you enjoy it say hi to em every day, talk a bit, and in no time when you are both comfortable you'll have a bromance to share your close feelings with.

I have very few friends at all but the ones I do are mostly girls. I honestly see nothing wrong with it, guys always seem to piss me off ;)

Friendships are friendships, regardless of gender. But it's always nice to have someone of the same sex to be able to share those "male" things with.

I would suggest you try and make some friends with a male or two. Females make amazing friends, and can make great listeners, and can be very fun to hang out with if you are a male (And can make you look rather cool if you are straight!). Attempt to approach some of the males that you call "acquaintances" and start a conversation with them. I know it's a bit hard to make new friends, but it's always easier when you are already acquainted with them! You don't have to hang out with them outside of where ever it is you normally see them! Just make sure you have some conversations with them at school, hang out with them in classes, maybe drop by their table at lunch. Create a conversational friendship with them so you can have those discussions you yearn to have!

I have both male and female friends, and as Ambrosia said, I always find that my female friends are excellent listeners, and can be fun to hangout with. They also give great advice.

Thank you all for the answers, they have helped me tremendously :)

And I completely agree with you all on the fact that girls are excellent listeners and help me out with whatever problems I may have involving social or family life. I also prefer to keep the company of girls because the majority of the guys in my school are, for lack of a better word, a**holes. Just a thought.

Again, thank you all for the answers :)

I grew up with girls as friends since there are no guys my age in our neighborhood. I'm lucky that I had some guy friends at school. I know what you mean about talking about girls. Talking to guys about girls was a fun part of my growing up.

My best friend is a girl! I liked 2 of her best friends! and I still do XD, she has been helping me with all sort of problems and I've been helping her too! Over time me and her have got so tight we are now like brothers and sisters! it took about a 1 year to become really close and good friends! ;P
