I have been a Christian for my whole life. Being the Son & Grandson of pastors its all about being a Christian in my life. I started watching porn at the beginning of 7th grade and I still watch it like 5 times a week or more. My mom says that it is a sin to watch porn. She also says that how do you think Jesus would feel about it. I have never been caught, but by my brother and he knows I do it. He does not Jackoff/Watch for all i know of. I feel like it is a addiction attached on me. I try too stop but I can't. I don't know if its because I'm not sexually active down there, or if its a stage of puberty. If you have any suggestions please comment. If you have read this far Thank You!

It's normal most people do it. ur hormones r ravening and can be hard to control off u really want to stop u can. It's usually only an addiction when it's constantly interfering with other things like friends family exc.....

How is and addiction a part of puberty!!! shame on all of you for lieing
to the boy. look ive been there and still kind of am. yes it is a sin this is lusting after some thing. plus porn will ruin your idea of sex. when you finally have it your gonna expect something great and 30 min long when its prolly gonna last 2 min. it has nothing to do with being sexually active down there either. YES your hormones are pretty active right now but you can surpass this. LOOK radicle changes in your life require radicle choices. meaning you need to stay off the computer or do something. please message me if you have any questions.

I think the vast majority of parents would say it's a sin. It's a phase in puberty. If you enjoy then go for it! It's always up to you what you do.

If you can't stop watching porn then you can't I suppose. Hormones are very active now. My parents haven't really mentioned it but I remember once something about kids watching porn was on the news and they turned it off.

At my church (when I used to go) they said that god wants you to masturbate and that its okay.
And what the fk isn't a sin in the bible? You're fine...

it's completely fine, why would god have made you to have those erges just to make it wrong, god made you to love your body and made you have those erges for a reason, life isn't worth living when you doubt how god made you.

watching porn is not a stage in/of puberty at all!!! it's something we struggle with during puberty, but it's not a "stage", period.
my friend, it would be considered lust according to the Bible, which is sin. that's why your folks call it sin.
porn is approximately 10x more addictive than drugs and is, like drugs, tough to overcome. if you fear this is an addiction, get help NOW. it can ruin relationships and your marriage in the future if the addiction continues on into adulthood and family life.
i'd suggest talking to a pastor, maybe a youth pastor would be easier. trust me, they get it! they understand and deal with this stuff all the time. just make sure it's someone you trust with this personal info and will hold your confidence. also make sure it's someone who won't condemn you.
hope this helps.

Porn is a sin. Haven't any of you "Christian People" read Matthew 5:28?
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Porn is a lustful activity and is an act of adultery according to scripture. Committing adultery is breaking one of the Ten Commandments and lust is one of the seven DEADLY sins. It's not just a sin. It's a DEADLY sin.
I'm not bagging you here bro. I suffered the same torment and trauma. But Porn is a product of Satan's temptation. He's got his hooks into you via Porn and he's drawing you to his domain of eternal and fiery damnation!
If you want to be saved by the glory of Jesus then STOP for his sake and your own! What's five minutes of sexual pleasure and immorality compared to an eternity of suffering and torture in hell? If you stop you can be saved!
Your hormones may be active but it's no excuse! Nothing is an excuse for doing something as shameful as masturbating to Porn.
You need to tell your pastor or your parents about it. Don't feel embarrassed my brother in Christ. The Lord and Saviour will be at your side.
I've experienced what you're going through but you can break free! Train yourself to say no. No is the only word you need to say to yourself! If you find yourself tempted, go pray, or do something like physical exercise, listen to some soothing music, just get your mind off it please!
May the Lord cleanse your mind of such fiendish activities!

As an ex-drug user and porn watcher, I can vouch that is not true... moving on...
Many Christians believe watching porn is a sin - many even believe masturbation is a sin. Lust and such. Then again Christians have such varying beliefs it is probably best to stick to those that pertain to your view on the world.

First of all where in the bible does it say pornography is wrong.
Just saying Matthew 5:28 says not to lust after a woman as of wanting her to be her wife if your are married already.

Firstly its important that you own your own faith and belief in Jesus.
Although it is a sin and also a temptation, you can learn to have self-control and keep focusing on God. It is not good to be addicted to it, but you are not going to hell for the times you fail, cause Jesus has paid the penalty for your sin.

I too am a Christian, and I am strong in my faith, but we all have our weaknesses. I don't think that it is the worst thing you could be doing, but it is a sin. We all sin. Also, its a normal part of growing up for us to jack off, and I think that typically, porn sort of goes along with it. And I'm not saying anything to be mean or something, but your brother is a teenager. If he is like probably 90% of guys out there, he jacks off. Just saying.

Gluttony doesnt have a lot to do with lust. and its not saying to sin in moderation either. dont sin at all. it say to flee from temptation. 2012 will not be the year of lazy teenagers.

Stuff. If you wanna read it, it's Up there ^ somewhere. Go find it or something.
I'm sorry, I must interject. Perhaps I have no place here, but I prefer being open to anything and everything. I seriously doubt that there will never be a moment in your or anyone else's life where you/they look at a male/female lustfully. I could very easily rant on and on about how I don't believe in any higher power/God/afterlife. I will say that I frequently read magazines such as Watchtower [I apologize for not being able to name more at the moment], so as to keep myself informed in the off-chance that I might decide differently, and that I may "save" myself if such a time comes to pass. I've read that there are cases when the christian God Jehovah will make exceptions for those that do not believe in him, or that do and misstep in their beliefs. It said in the issue that if Jehovah believes you are good in heart, that he will allow you to join others in Paradise, on a sort of 'probationary period'. If you do well, and accept him fully during this time as the one true God, then he may allow you to stay there for eternity.
If you have NO doubts about your faith, skip this paragraph! From the viewpoint of one who believes in evolution and questions the existence of an omnipotent being, I will say this: It's perfectly normal and fine. There's nothing to worry about as it's actually beneficial to one's mental and physical growth. The point I'd like to emphasize is that it does put unnecessary stress on the body and mind, and the longer that you bottle up the cravings, the harder they become to ignore. You will get aroused easier, and will think pervy thoughts with increased frequency. One may eventually get used to the heightened sexual state, though it does not go away. One may get used to it in the same way one may get used to a foul-smelling room if one stays in it long enough, except that it's much harder to do so with sexual frustration. As for as the evolutionary theory, it is programmed in human beings as an instinct to crave sex in almost all it's forms, as it ensures the survival of the species.
If you find people questioning your faith in religion to be offensive, do NOT read further! I'd just like to point out that, If man was created in God's image, then why to gay people exist, when He allegedly hates them? Would one suggest that it was not to be? That god mishapped when creating man? then he is not truly omnipotent, thus why call Him a God? Just something to think about in your spare time.
I'd like to state for the record that if Religion is supposedly used to give people's lives meaning and direction as well as comfort, then why does it ban things that one may find pleasurable?

I've had the same "addiction", and then I think of my family. My family who has taken care of me my whole life. It makes me feel guilty. I made it my new years resolution to stop, and it's the toughest thing I've ever done (besides bungee jumping on my 9th birthday). Ever seen the quit smoking ads that say you can still smoke while you're on that program? Porn is just like that. I get a little sneek peak now and then, and I'm becoming detached. But saying what would Jesus do is funny, because he physically couldn't. There wasn't any Internet or magazines.

your right that Jesus could do anything like that then but he was a man. God chose to send his son down to earth in the form a of Man. so yes Jesus was tempted he could've lusted after women or even men (the imagination was really the only kind of porn then) Jesus is the perfect example of how we should live our lives.

so if i don't watch porn but fantasize about people doing sexual acts in my head while jo am i still sinning?
here is my solution: if you watch porn 5 times a week try and watch it only 4 times a week, then the following week (or month depending how quickly you want to stop) take away another day and only watch 3 times a week, keep doing this til you are not watching it anymore, it is a difficult process but you can do it!

I majorly disagree. Bible-bashing aside, it's up to him what he does. Theres no shame in doing it. Legally it might be looked down on, but why else would about 50%+ of people that masturbate watch porn aswell?

Okay, please forgive me if I offend anybody, because I'm not setting out to do so.
I strongly believe that there is nothing wrong with watching porn. Masterbation is healthy for teenage boys to partake in. Just because your parents bring their beliefs upon you doesn't mean you must abide by those views only. It's your life. It's not like your going to become a porn star. And it's much safer doing that then going out on the street and getting somebody knocked up. Everybody has lustful thoughts. It isn't good to disrespect your parents, but your sexual fantasies and preferences are personal.
That is just my personal belief. You need to do what your comfortable with.
If your an addict, I would get help.
(meaning if it's all you think about it day and night, and have an obsession.)

Porn has nothing to do with ones puberty level, guys of all ages do it. That does not, however, make it better. It is a sin and an addictive one at that. If you want to break it the best way is to go to someone you trust, a parent, pastor, or older freind and tell them about it, and ask for their help. It's also good to mix prayer with fasting, I hope you find peace!

I'm a christian myself bro and I deal with these issues as well. Don't stress to much God understands that it's just a very difficult stage in your life where porn is almost impossible to avoid. Just like my preacher always says about human nature "Love me stroke me make me feel happy oh baby oh baby" It's just flesh and we all fall to temptation it happens and always will. In fact you being worried about it just shows that you care and proves that your a good christian. Good luck to you my friend.

Re: christianteen's post: yes, in some parts of the bible it speaks of those things but seriously, what was with the "STOP now to save yourself from eternal burning"? For real, I am a Christian young man. I attend horizons community church in az but what I believe is that god has changed and adapted to how civilization has changed and in the bible it says that god is a forgiving god and that he loves every single humN being on earth. However, it doesn't say, " ok, um... Hey Jonathan, you know I love you but you jerked off when you were a hormonal teenager so uh, I'm gonna send you to he'll for eternity." god doesn't say that. God gives humans everyday, evey minute a new chance to be forgiven and be able to spend eternity with him in heaven. So, Jonathan, I just want you to knowhat I don't rink hat yu should listen to Hess other guys. I am a Christian kid and I jerk off to porn too! :)
