I think this is a great idea :).

I love love love the perspective. It's so fluid and beautiful; it fascinates me. I really enjoy the concept of it-very powerful. I like that the colors are grey but the lighting is so perfect that it doesn't feel bland. It also has a kind of rhythm in the pattern that's really enticing. The only minor criticism I have is that, while the perspective is really great, I think if your camera was lower, and you got a personal shot of a few chairs and from there the eye moved to the thousands lying beyond, it would add more depth to the photo. Other than that though, really great job :).

That landscape is gorgeous, I question where it's at! With the lamp post, if it was a bit darker, it would add an air of mystery to it!

This is opinion, but I don't care for the cut branches (or are those just dead?) Also, the bit of open on the box I think would look better closed more.

Adorable fox in a great pose! It would be perfect if the picture was larger (I'm assuming it was taken on a phone?) and the fox was pulled up closer.

the photo is well taken-the blurryness of the objects in the mirror are contrasted nicely with the sharp clarity of the outline of the mirror. I like the beautiful simplicity of it. But I think that, while this photo is well constructed, it's missing a depth, or story. There's nothing in the mirrored image that's especially powerful. For example if there was a person there, or a heart or something, with that 'caption' that objects are closer than they appear, it gives a very powerful message.

It has a nice clarity I have a hard time achieving. The black corner is distracting though it indicated the angle and sculpture of the face. The angle was nice and intentional or not the glare on the eye was nice. The blur of the eyelashes contrast nicely though the green hue is somewhat distracting. All in all a lovely photo.

I really like the focus-I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I like that the ladybug isn't centered, that's it's part of the scene and not the whole photo. I also like the lighting a lot-it's very soft and sweet. That being said, it might be better to get it closer up, by cropping out the top, which seems unnecessary as it adds nothing to the photo. Also, the color of the ladybug is really pretty, but consider using an editing program (it doesn't need to be photoshop-windows photo gallery is more than enough for the basics) to brighten up colors and increase contrast. If you are good at using photoshop or whatever, try playing with the photo to exercise your skills and creativity-for example imagine the photo was black and white besides for a beautiful, vibrant red ladybug. :)

The green of the tree and the red on the ground contrast nicely, accentuating the more faded blue colors (such as in the fur and on the tree trunk. Personally I would like to see the rest of the tail, for a more complete feel to the photograph. It wold also help add to the size of the photo.
---

Yeah, my typical style is focusing things to the corner with a nice background, that was intentional. I used a magnifying glass and still couldn't get too close up. It took a long time to get it on my side of the grass so I took the first good one after an hour give or take. I personally, as ridiculous as this is, like to accentuate the realism of a photo. Other than correcting lighting I like to keep the natural feel of a photograph-- especially a nature one.

I like how (you? Movement media?) captured the splash. The angle would have been better at a higher angle in my opinion because that feels like a commercial. The person in the background might have looked better if more heavily blurred.

I think your photo is too far in, or too far out. The corners of the rims, the white, it is cut off. It needs to stay or go... other than that I don't see anything wrong with it :)

the photos colours aren't wrong-'cause you wrote something about crappy lens.. (that much). The blur seems artistic!

Wow. that's incredible. it has a very dreamy, ethereal feel. I was thinking of saying that it might be better if a part of it was a little more in focus, but no. It looks so beautifully surreal the way you did it. The colors are amazing and there's no noise in the background, which really enhances the photo. Really, truly beautiful. Great job!

Thank you!

I really love your macro- the colors, the focus... all great! I think that just maybe it would be more pleasing to the eye if the droplet was more to the left because that's just where your eye usually drifts first, but then again, if you did that, you'd loose the tiny little droplet all the way to the left, which I think adds a nice touch...

I love the colors; they're incredibly vibrant and really pop out nicely. That's a great spot for photography :) you can create some very powerful photos. My criticism lies in the fact that there's no real focus. My eye doesn't know where to rest, what to look at. If you payed more attention to one spot while the colors of the rest of the scene meshed together, the scene would be more powerful. Perhaps even bring a model to pose there, and have this incredible scene in the background.

I like the photo, it could be better. I think what you could have done to improve it was to make the focus sharper and also the bird at the edge that has been cut in half, either have got it all in or none of it. It would make it a lot stronger.

I like the feel you get off the photo-this old gothic tone. The black and white, bare trees, clouds, and tower-like structures to the right really help get that across. My criticism is that I don't quite get the message of this photo. It would have been better if you took the photo from a different angle-perhaps a close-up of the trees with the outline of the structures in the background or the opposite. Also the the right corner, there's what I assume is a glare, which can work well in some photos, but here it feels messy. It makes the tower structure blurry and takes away from the overall quality. Basically taking the photo from a different angle would rectify all this, but great job bringing across the tone :).

The fact that it's just the flower in the photo makes it look as beautiful as it can be seen (in general).
I also like the blurriness of the petals in the ''background''.

I really like how you captured the water here. It flows so beautifully and naturally; truly gorgeous. The entire fountain as well is quite beautiful, and the stone design combined with the great contrast between light and shadow give the scene a lot of power. I think the photo would look better if it was straightened though, as the falling water feels add at this angle. Also it would have been stronger if the background was more blurry, as the scene there takes away from the quiet magnificence of the fountain.

Thanks, Pat.

Whether staged or candid, I like your photo because its got two of my favorite things; it's b&w and a street shot.
Compositionally, I think it's a strong image. Good use of rule of thirds and and the leading lines of the road make it interesting.

Thank you! It was not staged :)

I really can't say anything negative about this picture. I like the use of the rule of thirds, and the contrast (if applied in post?) really gives it that pop.

I really like the lighting in this shot! Not going to get critical on the focus since it was taken on a point and shoot, although one thing I would of changed is the angle to keep the house out of the background.

I think the idea of your shot. The angle of the globe is cool as well as the proximity and the focus, but I feel as if the lighting is off. If I were you I would have had a soft yellow/white light coming over your right should and put the globe up against a black background for dramatic effect. Then you would've been able to bring out the different tones in the globe.

well to me, the background seams a bit distracting. what you can do is pull the camera back about 1-2 feet and then zoom in to compress the background. If you do edit your photos try adding more contrast in the pictures. i'm guessing that the subject that you'r photographing is inside the flower. make sure you have the subject focused right to show more detail. (I understand that when a image is uploaded to VT, some of the quality is lost)

love the vibrant colours of the flags and the subjects, are they police? or military? I think that the men would have alot more impact on the picture if the background was blurred more. (I think that is done by reducing the f stop, but I'm not sure. cant remember off the top of my head)

The subject of the photo intrigues me. It's a train station with a train parked in it, but nobody to be found. I like it. I think the geometric angles of the cement building with the pillars and the stairs draw your eye in very nicely and make you want to examine the photo to see if anybody can be found, even in the background, but no, not one person. The shadows and highlights contrast each other interestingly. I normally wouldn't be thrilled to have the shadow cutting through my image like that; though it works rather nicely here with the angles. Nice shot!

I love how the main boulevard crosses this scene in a diagonal, and seems to head off into the sunset. As for the train tracks, consider cropping them just at the line where they intersect the street. The tracks and the street make a 'V' shape which I think is cool.

My picture was taken just two or three blocks away from where yours was.

I like your photo, it's bright, colorful and that draws in my attention, but as I look at it, it lacks some compositional elements. When taking a photo, you should process what the subject is in your head, and seek to capture that subject in the most interesting or effective way that you can. Your picture is very aesthetically pleasing, but it's a front-on picture of somebody's art. Try using things like that as enhancers to your photo. For example, if you wanted to capture that mural, you could take a very compositional photo of it, and while the mural would still be the subject of the photo, it would be an interesting take on the mural and what's going on around it.

I took the photos that I last posted months ago. I'll try to get out and take some new shots to put in here :P For now I'll just use these, sorry.

This picture sort of breaks the rule of thirds, which is good because its the one rule I ALWAYS break :P

Colour of sky is vibrant, but I wish I saw a little bit more of it. I like the steam clouds rising from the mountains though.

But Yeah, You guys have some amazing landscapes over in Europe! I'd say I was jealous but Tasmania's probably just as good ;)

Nice Marius,
Great Composition, I'd be inclined to lighten the foreground a bit and generally give the image some more contrast, make it pop!

Here's Mine of a Thunderstorm we had last night. Inside through the window, wasn't going to go outside! Haha, Unfortunately the one actual Lightning bolt I saw was when I was setting up my camera, so this is jut of the light through the clouds. Was fairly happy with it :)

[QUOTE=Iris;1567292]I think this is a great idea :).I love love love the perspective.

Nice concept and guidance

Do you know the aperture that you used? Was it a crop sensor camera? What focal length did you use? If I have to guess, you used a long angle lens, crop sensor, not too sure about the aperture though(It ain't too wide and ain't too closed, that's for sure)
Can you tell me the exact focal length you used?

Ok, I like your photo Marz. The grey shades makes the location of the photo look desolated and devoid of life, and the perspective is interesting because we're not looking directly across at the view from the balcony fence thing, we're looking at the view from an angle. I like it~~

although in black and white, the perspective and objects are so clear and clean. i love how you can see the reflection of the city on the wall on the left, and how she seems to be looking at just the slightest angle. i would maybe suggest playing around with the focus, and possibly blurring some areas and keeping others in focus. great photo!!

I like the obvious idea behind this image, but I think (Without being mean/rude) it could do with a bit of work, both in pre-shot setup and editing. Whatever filter is applied here takes away a lot of vibrance and gives the image a very dull, boring look.

Here's two I took on my EOS 30D. The night one was one of my first attempts at night photography, the lighting on the tree was actually a timed outside garage light. The other is an image of my dirt bike, a 2007 KTM 250 XCF-W. Excuse the poor quality of either picture, I had to compress them to be able to upload them.

^ yea the sky is overexposed, but great contrast between flag and background and the bird is so detailed, I feel like i can just touch it!! You must have a great camera.
