I think the rep system seems flawed.

I'm getting negitive reps just asking if my body extremities are to large.

I don't believe people should just be able to go around giving people negitive reps like that. It should be mods only or people with a very high amount of posts.

Disable your rep or report it to the mods. Whining about it just makes you a bigger target, at least until a mod inevitably steps in.

Thats because nobody on this forum cares about how big something is. If people have been neg repping you then they think that your post is stupid (I'm not saying it is) or they disagree with you.

Another reason could be that their trolling.

if you receive unfair rep, report it to the admins (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showgroups.php).

The admins dont do anything about it, unless you are completely targeted constantly.

Actually thats not true. If you feel the rep is unfair it generally is taken off if you explain to them why.

Rep is given out unfairly sometimes but I think that shows the maturity of the people that are doing it? If you're getting neg rep report it to the admins and ignore it, you're asking a perfectly acceptable question that you want the answers to, you're here for help like everyone else is and you're entitled to it. Rep isn't the be all and end all on this site so just ignore it. The more you draw attention to it the more its going to happen im afraid.

In my opinon for what I have seen, if you constantly post in p101 your rep can go up and down, but as soon as you post in other areas of the forum rep tends to go up unless you post something stupid, also to neg rep you get to see comments, so try and take advice from the comments.

I got neg rep from a post that was like from a couple months ago, saying "wow", its stupid, if people cant be bothered to write a good comment, explaing why you got neg rep

I think it depends how busy they are and if you are a frequent enough member.

Well... It might be flawed, it basically is a popularity contest effectively!
But it really should not be taken seriously, at all.

I've said this many times, but rep is arbitrary, nowadays it's just a measure of how big an asshole you are.

Well, not always, but it's generally given when people agree with you. Essentially it's to show how much people agree with you, only occasionally do people rep you for good posts that they don't personally lie in congruence with.

Point is, don't feel demotivated by neg rep, rep's blown way out of proportion anyway. Keep making useful posts and eventually you'll witness the 'glorious beacon of light' that is your rep bar.

If people agree with what you say, you get positive rep. If they disagree, you get negative rep. You will find it to be like that on almost every single forum.
It's just a number, don't get so worked up over it.

In addition, I would like to offer some suggested reading, which I got via this search (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/search.php?do=process&forumchoice[]=10&query=reputation):
