ok so iam 15 270ish pounds. i played baseball last year and football for 5 years before that. I switched to baseball for certian reasons, but anywho i was wondering, I have a good amount of muscle in my arms to swing a bat. I want to work on my speed and lose wieght. If i go to the weightroom everyday and and run .75 miles and ride 6ish miles on the bike will that help? because i did that today and it was the first time i worked out since baseball in the summer. Or should i stick with my friends schedual and go Monday Wednesdday Friday and work on running/ stuff to help with speed and wieght lose.:what:

Hey Dusty! I'm not too good on imperial-metric conversions (not American) but if you're looking at losing weight, you're definitely going to need to look at controlling and maintaining a healthy, balanced diet on top of good cardio exercise.
Diet will be affected from factors including your genetics and metabolism, so there aren't any strict rules to follow.
You can go to the weights room everyday, but remember your body needs time to heal.
From what I know, your body also repairs itself in early stages of sleep (10pm-2am I think) so don't skimp on it!
I currently run around 3-5km and bike a further 20-30km and try to fit 6 cardio exercises a week. I used to swim, went from pool out to harbour swims, then I got lazy. I prefer land workouts but anything that maintains your heart pressure at the training zone, which you can sustain for 30 minutes or longer is great (Doctors say sex included ;) )
Diet wise, make sure you eat lots of proteins. This is true even for weight loss. Carbohydrates (bread, pasta, rice, potatoes) tend to make you a little hungry whereas proteins are a little more complex, take longer to break down while is also needed by your body to repair muscle.

I'm on a routine with some friends doing Monday-Wednesday-Friday resistance workouts and I do cardio everyday except Sunday. If the weather's shit we use bike machines etc which work too.

Don't see 0.75miles or 6miles as your ideal training. As you get fitter and start training more regularly, make sure to continuously increase your workouts and set yourself new goals & challenges :)

Hope this helped.

Thanks for the info. But i do have to say 0.75 miles is an accomplishment for myself because i dont run i hate running so anything that is close to a mile is good for me i think. But i will try to go further every time i go.(monday wednesday friday)

I think that 3/4 a mile everyday is great. Good job, buddy. Keep it up!

Well, we all have to start somewhere. All the best I'll say. It takes lots of determination and perseverance. Heck, I started running only 1km (0.6mile), and I've built up. Hoping to do a marathon one day. If that day comes :)
