i doubt it. with american elections coming up, it would be political suicide to declare war.

I highly doubt war is imminent with Iran. Iran has sleeper cells in Gulf states, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and enough weaponry to wreak havoc, along with missiles that are able to hit Israel. It would be foolish at this point to initiate a war.

No, it wouldn't. The number of Republican presidential candidates advocating military entanglement with Iran is just disgusting. Really, bashing and yelling at Iran seems to have become a theme of this year's primaries. Neoconservatism is never an appropriate or sane philosophy. The fact that these politicians advocate an ideology that has never worked for the United States, during a time of such instability in the economy and federal government, is inexcusable and nonsensical. You would've thought we would have learned from Vietnam and the War on Terror, but no. In American politics, throwing the military at "the enemy" earns votes consistently.

A war with Iran would result in an incredibly (dare I say fatally) expensive conflict with a large, geographically turbulent nation that has one of the world's largest militaries. In short, it would be fucking terrible. Do I think it'll happen? I doubt it, but the possibility is always there, especially if some fuckwit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Santorum#Iran_nuclear_capability) becomes president next year.

They do realize that there is still Freedom of the Sea's? Or are they too stupid to realize they'd probably have even more sanctions placed on them?

Oh Iran..

Do you think Iran is limited with "Iran"? Before the Marines embark on battleships bound for Iran, fatal acts of terrorism will be everywhere. American people are literally "sick" of these war business and this time it won't be a Korea or a Vietnam which is located far away from people. Or not like a "cookie" Iraq. Iran, whose citizens wash themselves with petrol, which is located in the heart of Middle East, where nuclear missiles are hidden in everyone's backyard, would be a big-time war.

Countries of NATO would seriously doubt joining the war but well they don't actually have a choice. Well half of America's and NATO's forces are busy in Afghanistan, they can't simply pull them back.

If America actually goes to a full-scale war with Iran, the chances that America will either win a phyrric victory or get beaten by a crushing defeat are big.

About the politian, let him talk. America became such a country, that even when a simple class president in school would say "No terrorism!" people would applause him and choose him. He says he'll bomb Iran only because he knows that's what American citizens want. Nobody would vote him if he said "I shall reduce military expenses, stop the war in Afghanistan, build more hydroelectric facilities and protect the nature".
