i have further been told that I have to have a prostate examination and testicular examination, what are theses are will they hurt? Will I have to get completely naked in-front of the Doctor and Nurse??

Thank you...

You will not have a prostate exam. That is for men over the age of 40 or for those who has a history of prostate cancer. You'll have a testicular exam that shows for a hernia, and other tests. But nothing else embarrassing other than the testicular. If you were joining the military they'd give you an exam that checks for hemorrhoids by just taking a look at your rectum, but basically he'd tell you the open your butt-cheeks and he'll just look and that's it.

The testicular exam, I've had multiple times because of sports each year. It literally takes a second. You drop your shorts, he grabs your balls, asks you to cough and you're done...that's it.

Most likely you wont have a prostate exam because youre under 20. The testicular exam is just dropping you shorts and coughing while he gently grabs your testicles to check for a hernia.

Other than that, its a normal exam.

the "turn and cough" is used to check for a hernia where he feels the muscle in your groin, the testicular exam is where he will feel each testicle individually and feel for lumps. Don't worry about it i've it had this done loads of times
