Many people blame so much of todays violence on popular media, especially video games. I was wondering what other people think about the video game violence issue?
I personally play violent video games to let off steam. I go home and beat people to a bloody pulp in Mortal Kombat instead of doing it in real life...in fact i dont condone violence at all unless it is self defense.

i reckon it depends how angry that kid is in real life, cuz a normal happy kid, plays video games, like gta and finds it fun for the missions and seeing people get killed without the consequences, but if u get this realy angry at the world, kid, who say dads in prision for being a muderor, he just wants to get back at the world, plays video games, gives him ideas, carrys them out

or are you just happy to see me?
Credit to Joseph Blanchette for that funny shit.

See, i love violent, gorey, blow off there limb games, but i would never grab a shotgun and start blowin random people away. sounds fun  , but i know what the right thing to do is, thats not to kill people. unless for defensive purpouses, of course.[/b]

i think kids should be able to play violent video games only if the parant knows that the child knows what is real and what isnt. if the kid knows that he doesnt have a restart button he should be fine.

Like any art form, it depends on the personal interpretation of the thing. What the video games communicates is the developors responsibility, but they can't be held responsible if someone decides that it would be a fun idea to go do some crazy driving in real life just because they played GTA or something. Not everyone will do it, but perhaps one person will.

 uhhh, u know what...i dont like the idea of adults thinking that everything is caused by video games....cause the kids get it from when they are smaller and younger, not by video games. even though video games MIGHT cause mental violence, it basises more around the society we live in, and the people 2...like if u live in a family that owns 45 guns, u think that the kids gonna turn out 2 be mayor...no....not gonna happen...probly...

If the child is say 4years old..their brain is like a sponge soaking everything in...if that child is fed sugar ..like junk food...and sits their with all this nervous energy..Whose not to say the kid's not going to get aggravated when little billy bob comes along and wants to play the game too.
Its a possiblity..

I definitely think the meida (television, videos and more including games) influence one's thinking.l
I am not saying that everybody who plays Hitman will want to become a Hitman. It does depend on the child's mental status. I am saying however, that constant playing of violent games may construct an ideological society in some children, in that their game is the reality.
Sure, let children play violent video games! But, I honestly think that some people hava deterimental (bad, negative) effect to video games.
This may be going off on a tangent but the film Scream has seen many Screm like murders worldwide.
Definitely it may help someone on how to commit a crime if there in the mental state for starters.
I don't know really if video games cause violence for definet. All I will say is, video games can help commit an offence to people who are already in the right mental status.
