I have always been interested in both Psychology and Medical Science, but recently I have been extremely interested in Medicine and becoming a surgeon. While I do want to become a surgeon, I am not to excited about the minimum of 8 more years of school. Is it dumb to choose a career in psychology just because there is less school involved? Should follow my passion for medicine? I would love to hear your opinions!

If you like psych do it. Medical school is so far out in the future that you probably don't need to decide until a few years into college. You may find the college work load crushing and medical school will be worse.
If you want medicine, definitely start with that in mind, but from talking to people in college that started out thinking of getting into medical school they all said you/i would need to really like taking college courses. I know two guys who are in med school and they said it make college look like a joke as far a work load.
I do really well in school, but I work at it. I'm willing to work hard in college too, but I think after that, I'll be burned out and wont want to go to grad school of any kind. I need to see a light at the end of the tunnel and for medicine it's like there is an uncertain faint light at the end of a very long tunnel.

If you really want to get into the medical field, I would say go for it. Those 8 years in medical school will pay-off in the long run. You'll be making lots of money and doing something you love, and not to mention saving lives. I wouldn't want to limit myself to a career as a psychologist just because there is less school involved. If you really want to be a surgeon, there is nothing holding you back from becoming one but laziness (and of course the cost). Do what your heart tells you to do, and you'll be happy ^_^ Good luck - Kris.
