im 13 and in the UK, and in the past week ive taken 2 overdoses. i want to go to the hospital to get it checked out, but i dont know what will happen. will i be put into inpaitent? will my mum find out? help me?

As your under 16 they will probably tell your parents, however you need to go. Go and make sure you haven't damaged yourself, it is vitalbecause you could have severe organ damage.

How long ago did you take the overdoses?

If it was less than 4 hours ago they'll take your blood to check how much of the drugs are in your system. Then they will decide whether to give you something via IV that will counteract the drugs, and minimise the damage.

If not i'm not sure what they will do. If the overdoses where days ago then they will probably do a liver function test.

They won't keep you as an inpatient unless they where large overdoses.

If you tell us what you took and how many we may be able to help more? And if you told us how long ago the overdoses where.

Go for your own sake Ask them to keep it confidential and all this other stuff It seems scary but its for your body hell my liver is screwed beacuse of things like this Get checked to have fun with ur mates and family

All of these are correct BUT if they are recent then activated charcoal will be administered and they will pump your stomach....and that is not pretty and since you are 13 your mother or parental guardians will have to give content to perform any of these actions....

Doesn't it depend on the drug? Pumping the stomach does not help for all drugs, and they don't do it for all drugs. I know about the active charcoal but it sounded as though the OP wasn't talking about any recently, and they only do that if it's a severe enough overdose. :P

Plus in the UK emergency treatment doesn't need parental consent.
