View Full Version : Addicted to my girlfriend?

So I've been going out with this girl for 3 months now, we're both seniors in high school. She's amazing, and we both love each other very much (say what you want about thinking you're in love in high school, that's not the point of the post, and I would say we are). My problem is, however, I feel like I'm addicted to her. I feel amazing when I'm with her, as I should, but when I'm not around her, I feel like shit. She was gone for two weeks for Christmas vacation and had spotty cell reception so I could only text her a couple times a day, and I had no idea what to do with myself. Even when she's around, I feel like I always have to be texting her just for my own wellbeing. When I don't get to see her for a day, I feel terrible and miss her terribly; when I know she's doing something else, I feel jealous that I'm not with her. Basically, any time I'm with her is amazing, but any time I'm not I'm depressed. Is this a relationship problem or a personal problem, and how can I help remedy it? And should I tell my girlfriend about it, or will it bother her?

Thanks!

Well, you need to work on your dependency issues. You should not rely on someone else for your happiness. Think of happiness as the cake, you need to get the cake for yourself, she is just the icing :)

You need to make sure you can make YOURSELF happy. You don't need anyone else to achieve happiness :)

This should go away in time, but you should hang out with other people too, not only with her..
