I read that Santorum is making a big run. Was talking about this with my history teacher today and she was saying that it's pretty stupid that Iowa gets all this attention just because it's the first primary/caucus. Thoughts VTers?

I'd like to see Ron Paul win. Unfortunately, Republicans are split between Establishment -- promoting power of the federal (Gingrich, Bachmann, Santorum) and anti-establishment -- against power of the federal (Ron Paul pretty much). It's difficult to speculate who will win Iowa, but Paul is gaining a massive amount of support, while the establishment Republicans are split between more than one candidate. Hopefully Paul will win, I swear if he doesn't, I'm leaving the USA. I can't take the sheer idiocy of the American government much longer.

At best? Paul.
At worst? Romney.
Who will probably win? Santorum.

Mit Romney. But John McCain got third last time, and guess who got the nomination that year?

I hope Ron Paul. I expect Santorum with Romney 2nd. They (The government) will manipulate the votes if the have to to keep Ron Paul from winning.

This is very true. If Romney wins they'll say that Iowa will reflect the rest of the state results, but if Paul wins they'll say that Iowa's only 1 state and it doesn't really matter.

Don't really think the first thing you said is true but anyway...

I don't know why everyone gets so hyped up about Iowa. It doesn't set anything in stone.

We need change. Not the Obama-force-the-poor-to-buy-healthcare- change.. but something like fixing the corrupted government, and at least slow down the debt. Our Republican options are, unfortunately not better options. Pro-life people. I mean, I'd be fine if they were just like that, but apparently, they all want to ban abortion. Now, Jon Huntsman, to me, seems the best republican, because he supports LGBT marriage. *shrugs* just what I heard from our school.

Explain more?

Do you truly believe they would change the results if he won?

Sorry, by "manipulate the votes" I kinda read it as manipulating the way voters are thinking.

That's different then....
I kind of agree then.

MSNBC just reported that about 57% of white Evangelicals came out as opposed to the 60% in 2008 (entrance poll). Right now, Evangelicals have been polled to vote more for Santorum (30%) than Paul (21%) and Gingrich (14%). This is literally turning out to be anyone's caucus.
