So me and my 2 younger brothers 13 (just turned) and 8 are all getting circumcised this fri (im guessing mom had it scedualed for fri so we dont miss to much school, bhuaa) but anyways, i guess my moms having us all "fixed":eek: up becouse my 2 younger brothers havent been able to get there forskins down.
Is it just me or how dumb do u gota be? Our dad resently left (devorce) and he has never been the type of man to talk about such a thing with us, so this is my moms answer... My youngest brother (trent 8) dosent care... and i think AJ (12) actualy wants it done:confused: !!! but i'm not so sure... i mean im not so big anyways and losing some of what i already got dont sound very good... ither way moms geting us all done so none of us have another problem with it on down the road... I dont see why she couldent have just got it done when we was born... I was circumsized at birth, so i dunno if it'll hurt. All i know is that you wont be able to masturbate until it is healed. But its easier to masturbate without foreskin, cuz you can go as hard as you want and not worry about tearing ur foreskin or something. Theres all sorts of possibilites to wank without foreskin. Being unable to get your foreskin down at 12 is not medically abnormal. This is entirely unnecessary surgery, and you should stop seeing whatever doctor told you it is. Tell your mom this. About half of uncut guys can't retract at 12. Give it a few years, let it happen naturally (tug in the shower some), and if you still can't, there is a steroid cream that cures up 80% of cases.

There is no need to go through, and pay for, this surgery. There is nothing wrong with you. Again, your doctor is seriously misinformed (with all respect to him). Tell your mom to cancel the circumcisions and give some time to research this. It's your body; you have the right to not be subjected to unnecessary, and potentially dangerous surgery for no reason.

Well, it's up to you. It is your right to choose for your own body. Personally, even if I thought it looked better (I don't care either way), I wouldn't risk it. I'd at least wait until I try to retract the foreskin. There are studies that show it significantly reduces pleasure; you might want to keep that in mind, although you'll still obviously enjoy it. I'm not sure if I buy those studies fully, but the doctors I've spoken to agree. If you don't have to do it as a teen, avoid it.

I've spoken with people who got cut as teenagers. Most of them say the same thing: it's not all that different, masturbation is a bit harder, you don't totally enjoy the strokes as much but orgasm is just as strong, and that it's fine either way. Most also say they wouldn't have done it if they didn't have a medical issue.

Of the maybe 9 people I know who had it done, I'd say 5 are satisfied, 3 are dissatisfied (including one who hates it) and 1 is indifferent. That basically matches statistics I've seen on voluntary circumcisions pretty well.

Again, though, it's up to you. It's your body. :)

I don't see how circumcision makes things "easier" in the future.

I'd think that stretching it in the shower and trying a skin cream is a lot less easier than getting major surgery that means you can't masturbate for a month...and is irreversible...and, relatively safe as it may be, carries significant risks.

Well, major surgery - it has risks and it's irreversible. And, as I'm able to get to, there are much safer options.

You can customize it to some extent. Even a loose circumcision removes a huge number of nerve endings, and I'm not sure it has much to do with scarring. But it's a delicate procedure and you can't customize it perfectly. I knew a fellow who asked for it to be loose and got it so tight it hurt to have erections. This might not be common (there's no statistics kept), but do you want to risk that before you try alternatives?

Why isn't your mom budging? There's no reason to have this done before trying the stretching/steroid cream. If you're still dissatisfied after you've tried that, you can go through with it. I've known people who were in your exact same situation and ended up regretting it, and wish they had tried the other treatments beforehand.

I'm not opposed to circumcision by choice. But this is totally unnecessary surgery. It's your right to have it if you want, but I can't imagine why you aren't waiting.

The only study that has ever been conducted on the matter that I know of did show that. But it was conducted in an area with a 90% circumcision rate. Only 16% of respondents had ever even had sex with an uncircumcised man. There was also a study that said that women preferred sex with uncircumcised men significantly (O'Hara and O'Hara), by about a 6-to-1 margin. Both studies are what I'd call flawed.

Your case does sound pretty severe, though. There's a good chance the steroid cream will work, but if you really don't want to try it, I guess that's your choice. You won't need to be cut no matter what, though. I've heard guys who had your same problem who are fine after they do the steroid cream. I hope you're satisfied with your choice tomorrow, but if I was in your shoes, I wouldn't rush to get snipped quite so fast. Considered a preputioplasty? It's basically like a very partial circumcision, but more like a "haircut". It's also much less likely to go wrong. Here's some info:

I think Maxx, if he doesn't have as severe of a case and isn't set on it, should definitely consider alternative treatments. I'm pretty astounded your doctor didn't mention them.
