My mum really doesn't listen to me, "I've got a lot on my mind" she say's when we are arguing. She has nothing on her mind, things are getting better in our household.
She doesn't realise I have issues of my own.
She wonders why I don't open up about things. She treats me like a kid!
I Don't want to divulge too much detail but here goes an example:
My mum was getting annoyed about something trivial.
I said it was nothing to worry about. (last week)
Then today, my mum was complaining about the same thing again.
I reassured my mum that it was normal.
Why didn't she listen to me first time round? Why doesn't she listen at all. I try and explain in a civil manner that I wish she would just listen to me and that I feel generally ignored.
Then she say's something like "stop 'knit' picking". (meaning stop picking fault). I can't help how I feel, I try and resolve an issue and get told to go away and shut up.
It's like a script for a tv programme, that's going to still be repeated on "DAVE" (A Digital television channel) in 2015!
I can't seem to find a way out of this :(
