I have never walked in on them, was taught at a young age to knock and wait till they say come in. However, I can hear them "at it" as their bedroom is next to mine, very awkward, so put headphones on

No thankfully, and like the above poster said I was always taught to knock first, so that might have saved me over the years, but I am not sure.

same here, and i agree super akward because it's been more than once because at the time i was having sleeping problems. I told my mom that i was having sleeping problems, kinda hinting, but she didnt believe me so it didnt stop. Headphones became my best friend :)

I walked in on my mom and dad when I was 8. It wasn't that awkward cuz I didn't know what they were doing. When I was 12 I walked in on my mom and her bf. They didn't know cuz I walked out really fast. that was like a 9 on the awkward scale. Now she's got a new bf and we have paper thin walls. :( I have to blast the radio and listen to my ipod so I can't hear them.

My parents do the dirty deed at least every Sunday, and I can always hear them. Last year when my friend came over we were walking down the hallway and *CREAK CREAK ohhhh...* and my friend was like oh $h!t dude your parents are having sex!!! :O So I said "....... Ok let's go downstairs and play some games" and then he said isnt that weird for you? ".... Naw they do-" *grunt grunt aaah* "they do it all the time, good for them for keeping active for all the years theyve been married"
The point is, I've heard them every weekend they have been able for years, and it is not awkward. I think it's good that they are still interested in eachother.

Urgh *shudder* when we were on holiday last summer with my dad and his girlfriend the walls were reeeaaalllyyyy thin and you could hear everything. I just turned up my headphones as loud as they'd go and tried to ignore the awkwardness I felt the next day *shudder some more*

I walked in when dad was passed out drunk and mom was doing things to him and she got real embarrassed.

I don't think mine do it much anymore so not a worry of mine. If they do then they are discrete.
