When we were 8 we used to play innocently
On the old, abandoned railroad tracks
Through a valley of trees that ran for miles.
We’d pick up shards of glass and heads of rusted nails;
Without a care, we’d play along our seemingly endless train line.
Its rotted wood and frozen stones will forever lie
With the markings of our child footprints.
Later, our sky would begin its nighttime resting.
Our evening’s waking would gleam ever bright as we slowed
To stillness in the vast forest among us;
We would slumber gaily as our little heads
Lay beneath a blanket of dimly lit night stars.

This is the other version...couldn't turn this one in for class...especially after my teacher said we were going to group edit the poems...those kids there don't need to know some of the stuff that's happened in my life...

Just kidding..i deleted it because i really didn't like it at all.. the first version is better in my opinion
