Hi :)
So I'm 16 and started getting my period like when I was like 14. They just started becoming regular recently where I am getting them every month. I absolutely hate wearing pads because every time I sit down it is like sitting in your own blood. I don't like that it is actually coming out of me. However I was told that I should wait until they are regular and I know what my average flow is before I start using tampons. I live with my father so he doesn't really know any of these things and I have some questions about it so I am going to ask on here. How do you insert a tampon, step by step directions? Also I know that their are so many different brands of tampons, which ones are the best? I know that their are different applicators (cardboard, plastic, and no) which are the best? Also what size tampon should I be getting? If it helps my flow is the heaviest during days 2,3,4 & 5. Days 1,6,&7 are lighter days. On days 2,3,4,&5 I have to change my pad on average about every 2.5-3 hours. Thank you for the help :)

Hey, dancergurl,

The makers of Always & Tampax have put together a site called www.beinggirl.com. Check it out and see if it answers some of your questions...

Good luck,
Becca

I like Tampax Pear because the aplicator is plastic. Inside every box there are step by step instructions so you dont need to worry about that and i'd start out on regular as everyones 'heavy' is different. i have to use super plus and not even that helps on some days so it depends. But just try any and you will find the one that works for you. :)

All the above advice is good. But I wanna throw in that what type of applicator is really a personal preference type of thing. Personally, I cannot handle cardboard applicators. I only like the plastic ones (I use kotex u, because I like the pretty colors haha). You should just try a few different kinds and decide what you like best.
