Well i am a natural fussy eater and i have another issue where i do not eat infront of people, So i can be as hungry as could be but because my family or other people are there, I refuse to eat.
but lately i have not been sleeping so throughout the day i do not eat, And then i am up all night not eating so it is like i am not doing myself no favours.
I went to the doctors about my eating and apparently everything was ok with me, But i am not so sure, Like the amount i eat, I am 15, 5"5 and weigh 7.5 Stone the last time i weighed myself.
So is it possible to trick myself into thinking food is different food? And train myself to eat in front of others? I am jsut worried about the different food one as my dad changed one ingrediant in a recepie and i noticed, So yeah if you guys know how i can trick myself into eating food or how to eat in front of people,That would be great thank you! :D
Also if to Mods or Admins this is in the catagourie i am sorry but not to sure where to post it ha ha, I am just stressed out about it as i was up all night nad have not eaten :( Same for all day yesterday.

Could you please clarify? I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Is the not eating in front of people part a phobia with an unknown cause?

So you don't dare to eat in front of people because you're a fussy eater?

I would suggest talking to a doctor, he/she may be able to refer you on to someone who may be able to assist you with your phobia.

You should see a good psycologist and try to confront the underlying cause of your fear/inability to eat in front of other people.

It sounds like it's an anxiety problem, or even a phobia.
GP's in this country tend not to be very good with things involving mental health. In my experience, they tend to either tell you there's no problem, or refer you somewhere like CAMHS, where they don't really do much to help you. They just want to get you out ASAP so it costs them less money. /rant. Sorry, it annoys me and I get angry about things like this :P
Anyways, I couldn't tell if you meant you were 7 and a half stone, or 7 stone and 5 pounds. I assumed 7 stone 5 pound, so that puts your BMI at 17.1, and a healthy weight normally starts at around 18.5.
Maybe you could go back to your GP and say that you think your eating problems are affecting your health, and tell them that your BMI is below healthy. How do you feel normally? You say you've lost your appetite for food, do you sometimes feel depressed? Loss of appetite is a symptom of depression or anxiety related disorders, which could explain why you won't eat in front of people, it's a lot more common than you think, especially with people with anxiety problems. How do you feel physically? Do you feel tired a lot? Do you ever feel faint, light headed or dizzy? These are things you need to bring up with your GP, to show that it's affecting your health.
It sounds like it's a social phobia/anxiety thing. You're not scared of eating, but you're scared of eating in front of people? That's more than just being a fussy eater. Have you told anyone about this? And not just your doctor, I mean family or friends. If you never eat in front of them they must have noticed that something's wrong? It might help if someone knew.
I definitely think that you need to see someone that knows about this stuff. Maybe ask your GP to refer you to a psychologist or something to try and help you understand why you won't eat in front of people.
Good luck. :)

Thanks for that, I understand if you got mad we all do from time to time! Well i think it is 7 and a half stone, But on the scales it shows up 7.64 which my mum says is 7.5, And my family do know about my eating problems but they do not know of any of my disorders i am 100% Sure i have got, So i will ask my mum about it but say i want to go by myself, Thaks for the help :)
Forgot to add and to other people who see this, The fussy eater thing is like topped onto me not eating in front of others, I only eat certain food a certain way but get bored of it after a month or so, So i am on the edge of running out of food i like, Sorry i did not esplain that so well.
@Georgiamay yeah it is weird the stuff you was listing that acutally affect me, I will be forefull is they say i am fine as i know i am not ha ha, I love you guys on here, Too friendly and helpful! Ha ha :)

Meh, that extra pound won't change your BMI too much :P
I think it would be a good idea to tell your doctor every problem you've been having relating to food and anxiety and stuff, that way you can't leave anything out by accident. If they tell you that you're fine, get a little bit forceful and tell them that you're not... It confuses them, but it works :P

I also can't eat infront of people so I know exactly how you feel! I have managed to get aroujd it jy eating in my room and cooking my own food. However if I'm out all day I won't eat anything at all....but that is more to do with anxiety (and in my case, toilet phohia).

I agree, you must consult psychiatrist & tell frankly about your problem. This will be good for you & doctor will give you the solution to come out of this phobia.
