View Full Version : Cold?

So I've had a "cold" for 6 days, and normally by this point it would be getting better, but it isn't...at all. And honesty, it doesn't really feel like a cold to me at all.

Mostly what I've been experiencing is a severely sore throat. As in, sore to the point that I woke up this morning and had to suppress tears because it hurt that bad, and I have an extremely high pain tolerance. I have a pretty bad cough as well, and I kind of think these are both due to like a thick mucous in my throat. I am incredibly fatigued. My ears and head hurt a bit, but that could be due to allergies, because they always hurt. I'm not having any problems with a runny nose or anything.

Does anyone know what this could be? Should I see a doctor, or just wait?

It really could be a viral infection, or something similar, its impossible to say over here, but I would suggest to see a doctor due to the duration that you have had these symptoms. In the mean time I would highly suggest keeping your fluids up, and take appropriate sore throat revelers, if you don't have any ask your doctor or local pharmacist.

I highly suggest that you see a doctor for evaluation and treatment, you may need antibiotics or similar. Keep us updated :)

Alright, I'll try to get to a doctor (especially since it's worse again today). Thank you, and I'll keep you updated!

Strangely enough, I have bronchitis. Which apparently indirectly caused my sore throat from hell. Glad I went to the doctor though, because I'm on antibiotics for it.

Yeah its sounded like Bronchitis when I first read this thread, my brother gets it all the time. Its good that you went to a doctor and are now being treated, hope it clears up soon :)
