Left or right is such an useless, overly one-dimensional spectrum.

I consider myself very much right wing when it comes to economic issues (ie I'm a dirty capitalist) but I find myself much more to the left when it comes to social issues (ie I'm a dirty liberal). What does that make me, where does that make me stand? Center? Are you fucking kidding, centrist policies are weak-willed and flaccid. Libertarian? Robert Nozick's a crazy asshole and the world doesn't work that way. Where does libertarianism stand on that scale anyway?

Even splitting the spectrum into two axes has its own problems. I believe in immigrant insertion but also harsher immigration standards. I believe in tougher (not necessarily lengthened prison terms, but a component of restorative justice in addition to prison terms would be cool) sentences but I'm all for decriminalizing prostitution, and maybe even weed.

I "support" the Conservative Party of Canada but I find that their social conservative wing is repugnant, backwards and extremely unlikeable (and Stockwell Day looks like somebody who would create homosexual concentration, uh I mean rehab camps or something). Furthermore I think that Harper is a dickwad and if I had any other (viable) choice I would not vote for them. Does that mean I support them, or not? Am I really a Conservative because I utterly detest 70% of their membership?

If you really want to know where somebody stands politically you need a left/right axis for every major political issue. The left/right split as commonly applied is bullshit.

Ok i see your point but this is just a simple survey. Remember this is TEEN forums so not that many people are going to have such a complicated view on politics. And dont get mad at me for the survey, im just interested.

Where do you politically stand?

Centre-Left. Mostly objective.

In what class would you say you (and your family) were in?:

Middle class.

How strongly do you believe in your political views?:

Not a great deal. I'm pretty willing to change my beliefs.

Would you say that the majority of your friends think what you think?:

More or less.

Would you say that the majority of your family think what you think?:

Less or more.

Specific political party you support:

None. I only know what I want and do not want in society, there's policies and ideals that I am in congruence with in a lot of parties and ideologies but I don't like sticking with one particular group and siding with it even if it does something I don't agree with. I like staying objective for the most part.

Age: (just to clarify so i understand the nature of these points of veiws)

I don't see how this helps, but I'm 18.

Where do you politically stand?: Left, if those are my options
In what class would you say you (and your family) were in?: I'm poor as fuck, my family is probably middle
How strongly do you believe in your political views?: I'm very firm and passionate about what I believe in. So quite strong.
Would you say that the majority of your friends think what you think?: Yeah. I don't have many friends who are conservative. I tend to not be able to shut up about political and religious shit and I scare them off.
Would you say that the majority of your family think what you think?: Yes
Specific political party you support: I mean, I don't really support anyone. I have issues because as far as American parties I'd probably go for one of the smaller ones in terms of beliefs but there's really only two parties here it seems. I mean, I would prefer a democrat to be running the country to a republican, and my family is Lib Dem.
