In the threads, there should be something that tells you if you have already posted in that thread. For example, a thread cane up that I posted in, but I wasn't sure if I did or not. So I had to go through all the posts. This could also cut down the number of people who double post.

It does, if you go to new posts or you go to the forum the thread is in and hover your cursor over the little envelope icon to the left of the thread name it will tell you if you've posted and when it was. :)

Also, adding onto what Aaron said, I believe there's a black dot if you posted.
