Because its a turn on for people. Some care whether your penis is cut or uncut, and someone who like cut penises will be less interested in uncut, probably because for me I don't like uncut because it just doesn't look good to me. So, cut penises turn me on more. Girls are like that too, they sometimes prefer certain penises too.

Don't listen to this person above me about guys beig turned on from it, no one gets circumcised just because their boyfriend or girlfriend doesn't approve. Cut means foreskin is gone for hygiene or religious reasons. It may or may not have been removed as a baby. Both are pretty much the same. But be careful with your sources when considering information on this subject.

I answered a question which was ...Why does it MATTER! I answered it! I never said people got it done just for their partners. I know it's done at birth....MOST OF THE TIME...but there are others out there that do it when they are older and as adults because they don't like the look of their penis having the extra skin or not having the extra skin and they do it at a plastic surgeons office just like a boob job!

But most have it done at birth...which I never said that it wasn't like that. But the other person wanted to know why it would matter to some people whether he is cut or uncut and I said that for some partners they prefer having a bf with either a cut or uncut whether its just personal taste or whatever.

Why the parents decide why to cut or not cut their boy is up to them and yes it could be religious or just hygiene but I know that my dad made his choice because of personal experiences and what he wanted me to grow up with and my younger brother to go up with...had nothing to do with religious or hygiene. For some parents it's purely sexual, and what they want their kid to grow up with and what other boys or girls will think of them because he's been through it all already.

Look down at your penis. Is there a flap of skin over it? If there is, then you are NOT circumcised, you are uncut/uncircumcised. If you don't then you ARE cut/circumcised.
The purpose of the foreskin is to help protect the sensitive head. Uncut penises tend to be more sensitive because their nerves are still protected. Cut penises are less sensitive because their head is exposed. As the head is exposed(rubbing on clothes and stuff), a coating of keratin is formed around the head.
Foreskin COVERS, over and around the penis head.
If you're still confused, I suggest you use Google Images. Wikipedia has great pictures too.

Hey bud - you're not stupid because you don't know. That's why you're here trying to learn and the forums are supposed to help.

Sounds like in post #9 if your penis doesn't look like the pic on the left when you're soft, then you're circumcised. It's no big deal - most of us born in the US are when we were born. Depending upon how much skin the doctor cut off will determine how loose the skin on your shaft is to move up and down when you j/o.
