I just turned 16 and taking the test for my permit next week and was wondering what i need to know for the test

Depends where you are, but for mine in Kentucky it was pretty much road signs and general rules of the road.

Pretty much just road signs. I read through the book and took practice tests online and I passed my test with 100%. And even passed my license test with 100% too! :D

Some of the questions on mine were incredibly dumb. Like..."What shape is a stop sign?" And, "What colors are a yield sign?" And even..."If a policeman is directing traffic under a broken stoplight, and he motions for you to go through, what do you do?"

Mine was bullshit really, our theory test is more common sense than anything. Like what we do at railway crossings if a train is approaching.

It can be tricky sometimes, actually. I know mine was. Just study hard before you take it and you'll be fine.

If you have the drivers manual I suggest looking that over, it helps a lot.

Yea it's not that difficult. A lot of common sense. Though I do remember some questions that were like, man I'm never going to use this.

Lmao, it's a breeze, don't sweat it. I got my license at fourteen. It was easier than anything I'd ever taken. Two of the written exam questions were

What should you not drink while driving?:
A. Orange juice.
B. Coffee.
C. Alcohol.
D. Milk.

What type of beverages should you never drink while driving?:
A. Protein drinks.
B. Alcoholic beverages.
C. Vitamin water.
D. Juices.

If you don't pass the written you don't deserve to drive due to lack of common sense. For the actual driving portion - parallel parking is the hardest thing and even that is a breeze.

In North Carolina the permit test is very hard in my opinion. I failed it the first time I took it. The license test though is very easy.

Depends were you live, but I think speed limits in certain areas and definition of each sign
