I walked into my moms room to tell her that I was hungry. (We don't have anything but snack food, so we need to go out) She ignored me. She was too wrapped up in her new kindle fire. I know I spoke loud enough for her to hear. After about a minute or so I left the room. Now, about 5 minutes after I left, I hear her turn her TV on. I've already had snack food for dinner 2 days in a row. I need real food. Why did she ignore me? She's just making me feel worse about myself and making me want to cut more :(

Are you on some sort of punishment? I have never heard of a mother Dilbert refusing to serve dinner to her child.
Do you know how to cook? I'm not trying to be mean but you are eventually going to have to cook for yourself one day. Better start now right?

Cassie summed it up.. even if its a punishment though, a proper meal is still necessary. Also, cooking isn't that bad either if you're allowed in the kitchen. its kind of fun, other than the clean up. :)

I love cooking. Cleaning up no biggie.
Is there anyone else within your household to speak to? Dad? Siblings?
Try and have a "serious" chat to your mum about it. It's depriving you of food, of health and nutrition.
If she doesn't care about her own meal, ask if she'd let you go out and get food yourself, or food to cook at home. She could be going through problems for herself; depression and other grievances, or even a temporary/permanent health condition may be possible causes of why she herself is not eating or bothering about it.

What am I supposed to cook? A junk food stew? That's all we have.

Lucky you,
Cat, I can relate. My mom used to make us live off of chips when I was younger so she could spend her money on friends.
Is there any way you can go to the store without her? Like, ask her for the money but walk or get a ride from a friend to the store?

Wow thats kind of sad but if she won't cook than I think you should cook. If you go to the shop you can buy frozen vegies and steak, its easy to cook and better than junk food.

Does your mother have some sort of illness herself- mental or physical, or is she just too lazy to take you to get food?

Do you really have no food in the house? Like nothing to cook?
If that's true, seriously, tell somebody. A teacher, another family member, something. It's called neglect and if you don't have ANY food, and your mother is ignoring you and your hunger, and there's no food to cook, that's NOT okay and some action has to be taken.
