FAQ thread

like "How do I become a moderator?" and something about age limit.

I just realized people don't seem to be reading it at all as some of the questions asked there are still being asked. but there's nothing that can be done about that -_-

So...if nobody's going to bother reading it, why bother updating?

Because the small amount of people that will read it when they join, or even at a later date, won't get the most up-to-date information that they can and will then post about it. So it's likely easier to update it now and then not have the endless posts about it later. Plus it's generally always better to be accurate, in everything you do.

Anyway it is a really good idea to update them because, to be honest we should try and inforce users to read the FAQ instead of posting in the ask a question section because its just wasted posts and time

Because if its not there how is punishing them for breaking the rules fair because they were none the wiser? Even if they didn't read it its their own fault, but if its not there in the first place we can't really say anything.

Lots of people end up reading it, or parts of it, when we link them to it for disobeying rules.

We can't just say "Hey, you're breaking *this rule* so read *these FAQs* because you asked *this question*" And then link them to it, and it not even be the same as we just described it to them.

maybe it should be made a global announcement so that it can be accessed in every forum section

i agree this would be really helpful to new members, I know not everyone reads the FQA but atleast it may stop a few of the "how does the rep system work" threads or "how many posts do i need to pm"
