anyone ever done any ? looking to try and get into it as i need some extra funds, but got no idea were to start who to trust etc...

I haven't personally ever modelled, but I have some close friends who have. I think most of them started by getting together a portfolio of professional pictures, and then sending them off to trusted agencies.

Another of my friends just got asked to model :P
